Nixplay used to be good, but now you have to pay a subscription.
We bought both the 7" and 8" versions of the Nixplay Seed back in 2016 when our son was born. It was easy to set up and it was easy for my parents to use. We were incredibly happy with the frame, its app, and the cloud service that makes it work. Unfortunately, Nixplay has decided to start charging money for the service they're providing. A "free" subscription exists, but we're already far over its limits. We never would've bought the frame in the first place had we known that Nixplay would decide to start charging a subscription fee. Now we're stuck with hardware we can't even use like we've been using the past 9 years. With its new subscription service and the exorbitant price of the hardware, it's difficult to suggest Nixplay

Crisp display, easy setup, FREE picture space, easy for others to send pictures
I have to admit that I was not expecting the frame to be as good as it really is. First, the display is nice and crisp. The pictures look really sharp and very well defined with no pixelization. The amount of options to setup the the frame are a lot, so you can do many different things. I am not sure how useful the remote will be as you can configure the frame from the Internet. The stand is the cable itself and it works great. The frame does not look cheap or cheaply made. It connects to the Internet for all the pictures, but seems to store them locally, so if there is an outage it will still work. One big feature is the ability to put the frame to sleep at night, and another is that it will shut itself off until it detects movement. When it turns on you can set it to cycle through newer pictures first. One thing I did not like was the speed and motion of the panning motion when some pictures that do not fit the frame are shown and I think they should be configurable. The Internet service is FREE as long as you don't need more than 10GB, which is more than adequate for most people you will gift this. Just delete pictures from the service before it gets full. You can give permission to other people to send pictures via email or the app, which is nice as it displays a nice greeting with the name of the person that sent a picture. I bought this for my mother and I set it up before sending it to her to make it easier (just plug and play). After using it for a bit I definitely need to buy one or two or three for myself.

Great until new update now forces Subscription
I ordered the NixPlay frame in April 2018. It is a great frame! Great enough I bought another in 2019 for my wife for her desk at work and another for my mom when my died in 2021. I digitized all our albums and had them in Google Photo. Every thing was great until today, 3/7/2026. Went to visit with my mom and her frame was in a on but black screen. Restarted and discovered that after 4 years, I can nolonger share an album to that frame, or to mine or my wife's. I find it messed up that a service that has been free and one of the perks of the frame, compared to competitors, just stopped and forces you to subscribe to a plan. The frames are not cheap either. Other then the change to the EULA, the frame would have 5 stars! But it lost its value over night with this change! I'll be making this review to all of my frames.

Wanna save time money and frustration.. Get this Seed Picture Frame or a larger one, the Cloud app is great !
I took a tip from support and created an account to play around with the albums/ playlists and iOS/ Picasa app and e-mailing attachments all with the cloud account several days before receiving the frame so when it came I was able to pair it and publish a bunch of those picts and test it out within a few minutes. I'm very impressed with the ease of use on-line and thru the Remote. Its image quality is fine and I'm very happy with almost everything. Right now it's sitting in Gift Wrap under the tree all set for my wife to plug it back in and see the 100+ photos I put on it. ( btw that's less than 1% or 2 % full of the 6 GBytes in the frame. I think Its a Great Way to save thousands of dollars on Printers and ink.. not to mention frustrating hours printing and mounting /mailing/and stuffing picts into hard copy albums no one ever looks at but once in a blue moon. I may not be able to cure her of that addiction but I can hope she likes this format too. If not I know several others in our remote family certainly will, and she can just give it someone who'll love it if she doesn't. I also know I can un-pair it ( losing all the initial photos as I do) but then we will repair it under her own new e-mail /password and web login account so she can manage it all if she wants to. Its not clear on the site but you can not only select specific playlists to publish to each different frame but can see and control which f these playlists are displayed while the picts are in frame memory too. That's very cool. The only thing that annoys me so far is that I can't delete individual Photos.. but I think that's minor compared to all the great things it can do like accept and auto-display way more than 10 photos sent as attachments to the [email protected] e-mail account in the frame, And, tho I don't know all it can do yet.. I've seen enough to know this will be a BIG Hit in our family.. I've ordered 4 so far and am hoping we all ultimately get one at some point cause we have smartphones and GoPros and point and shoot picts up the wazoo and I hate printing these just to stow 'em away forever in a hard copy photo album on a shelf. More later once I've played with it a bit.. And By The Way.. Thanks Nixplay Support for answering the 10 or so questions I put up here on Amazon under JimS before it arrived.. I called in once and also checked out the Knowledge Base on the site.. all are terrific resources.. good On Ya Nixlpay .

Sencillo de configurar y usar, buena calidad de imagen y acabados... Totalmente recomendado!

Got this as a gift for my grandmother and she loved it!! It was so easy to set up, and load pictures. The image quality is superb and the frame itself is very nice. All the grandchildren can upload pictures to the frame no matter where in the world they are!
