Smooth, Full-Bodied Coffee Every Time โ A Simple Tool That Delivers Barista Results
The Fino Pour-Over Filter Cone has completely changed my morning routine. Itโs lightweight, easy to use, and consistently brews rich, flavorful coffee without bitterness. The design fits perfectly over my carafe or mug, and it holds standard #4 filters without slipping or collapsing. Cleanup is a breeze, and I love how compact and durable it is. If you're into pour-over coffee but donโt want to deal with complicated gear or glass drippers, this is an excellent, affordable solution. Pros: * Brews smooth, flavorful coffee * Fits standard #4 filters securely * Lightweight, compact, and travel-friendly * Easy to clean * Durable plastic feels sturdy but not bulky Cons: * Doesnโt retain heat like ceramic or metal * No grip or handle, so it can get hot during brewing

Great pour coffee maker
These are nicely built. One of my sons moved and he doesn't drink coffee. So, I had to order something easy to make me coffee while visiting him. This is perfect. I have an older version and these are so easily to clean and buying 2 was great deal.

Function, Form and not Made in China
How much is too much? Sometimes less truly is more. I searched for a replacement #4 cone filter cup in average grocery aisles and the big box stores... they were never seen. Unbleached paper filters, yes... plastic cones, no. Retired on a shoestring and now enjoying the Good Life on my passive-solar wilderness homestead, I've arrived full circle back to the plastic cone w/ filters and a carafe or thermos. I can boil water in a solar oven or on the woodstove if push comes to shove. Easy, delicious coffee. Minimal footprint. Simplify. No longer could I justify the awkward large footprint of an electric drip machine or another gorgeous press cafetiere with little parts/glass guaranteed to go south, whether from inherent flaws, natural disasters or curious cats. Yes, there are upscale steel cafetieres promising FOREVER.... and I simply can't afford them anymore. But, daily good coffee is a MUST-HAVE and I knew the old cone system would work for me here in the outback just as it did in the late 60s as a young art student. Finding this particular #4 cone via Amazon.com at a sensible price was a relief. I flipped the inner coin and just ordered it. Receiving the little box quickly via USPS and with a kind note from the store owner was a boon. However, when I test-dripped my cheerful red Randwyck plastic cup, made in Holland, it was WIN! :) Yummy. The cone cup is made well, works well and has already earned its purchase. It easily works with a 1970s pyrex decanter, a mason jar or a wide-mouth thermos. Note: I understood there was no choice of colour where I ordered; but, the Euro red was a very pleasant surprise. PS: I add the used coffeegrinds and papers to the garden compost. All good.

Very light, very large, very effective
This is a very good method of making coffee for several people when space is at a premium. Think large breakfasts on Christmas morning with limited counter space, while traveling with three to five others and only wanting to make coffee in one batch, not a cup at a time, or backpacking with the family, etc. I've experimented quite a bit with it and I'd note that I don't love a drip coffee maker (electric or otherwise) because it doesn't have the full body and flavor I prefer, but this is effective. It is noted it has two drip holes: absolutely true. It does. It brews fast, so pour v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. Stir while you pour once or twice to stir up the grounds and get them exposed. Saturate all of the coffee, so swirl as you pour getting all particles wet. Keep the flow steady to make a strong brew. I like to keep my water temperature around 180 degrees. Boiling is too hot and makes bitter coffee. I use a no. 4 permanent filter and the fit in this device is so-so, but it works. This lets more sediment through than paper filters but is more environmentally friendly when backpacking (less trash). Also makes your cup a little stronger. Works on a carafe/pot from 2.75" diameter up to over 5" diameter -- with the top end of that range coming because the handle protrudes at exactly the same point as the ring does giving you almost an extra inch beyond the ring if you rest the bottom of the handle on the brim of the pot on one side. I can easily make up to 1.5 liters of coffee at a time with this (more than four large 12 oz. cups, more than six cups that were 8 oz. and more than eight cups that were a measly 6 oz. like coffeemakers like to pretend is average). Never had a need to make more, but I'd think it would make even more if pushed.

Raised lip size makes this more versatile than some other brands.
I ordered a different brand and found that the raised lip on the underside was too large for my travel mug (it was in fact the same diameter as the travel mug and so would not sit on reliably). The raised lip on this one is 2 inches in diameter, perfect for a travel mug. The outer bottom surface is 4 inches in diameter so it still works fine on a mug or coffee cup up to 4 inches in diameter.

Happy with my purchase
I got the black filter, and it came in tact, no problems. I'm picky about my coffee and wanted to try the pour-over method, as it is an ancient Japanese way of brewing and enjoyed them at a major coffee house, where it's kind of pricey. I also have a pod-type generic brewer that has a gold filter/pod. Although I get a good tasting cup of coffee from that, this pour-over filter is much better. The taste is more robust and flavorful. I bought #4 filters bc that was the only size Walmart had, and it works fine (that was a question I had when buying the #1 size). I was able to buy 100 filters for $1.97 (Walmart brand) and must say the filters are quality, as they are thick. Because of this, the water eventually moves very slow through the 4 holes which is good bc it picks up more flavor. At first I thought it was the holes, but realized it's the thick paper. I let it bloom or steep for a few seconds. Eventually, I had to pick up the filter and just hold it over my cup. I gently squeezed it like a tea bag. Because it's a paper filter, of course it will rip if man-handled, but this gets all the flavor out (I never had it rip in my cup, but noticed once it was starting to tear a bit when I squeezed hard, before I threw it away). This really doesn't take long, just takes long to explain here. I love the flavor of the coffee I get, so it's worth the five or so minutes it takes. I use about 6-8 oz of hot water and 1 TBSP coffee (I get a high quality bean where half is all you need). I also do quickly rinse the paper filter with cold filtered water before use to cleanse any impurities. I know I am saving money than if I went to the coffee house daily to buy a pour-over cup of coffee at some $2.50 a cup!

Very thin plastic
So we have this Bonavita coffee maker that we bought on the 'zon about 10 years ago. After LOML killed the glass lined pot, we bought 2 Melita carafe's with funnels. Well, it's been 10 years, and the pots are still fine, but the funnels are showing their age. Go looking to buy replacements to find that the only thing available was these Fino ones. Even on the Melita site, they don't exist. Everything is migrating toward the barrel shaped devices. I have no idea if they will work with the Bonavita/Melita combo or not, so I order 2 of these. Firstly, they went off in the USPS never-never land. Get a message they are going to be late, and then another telling delivery is soon, yadda, yadda, yadda. Not the vendors fault, but amusing nonetheless. So they arrive and the first thing that jumps out at you is the cheapness. Not a gram of excess material was included in the design. It's probably okay, but it doesn't inspire confidence for long term usability. The odd thing is, and others have mentioned it, is there are two large square drain holes in it. I brewed a put of coffee and it didn't seem to affect the taste but the fact that this is not mentioned seems a little odd. So there you have it. If you got some old Melita style carafe's these are literally your only option to replace the funnel with something resembling what it came with.

Product is as expected / Crummy packaging
Happy with the product. It's a good choice because I already had a gold filter and a borosilicate pitcher. Not happy with Amazon packaging. Received the item with a foot broken off because it was sent in a plastic bag without any cushioning.

Easy coffee making.
Started using a cone again on holiday this year and was reminded that you don't need a fancy machine to get a decent cup of ground coffee. All you need is a cone, some decent ground coffee and some filter papers. It's convenient and easy to clean. I still use my espresso machine but for every day use this does an excellent job. For people who haven't used one before, for best results damp the grounds in the cone with off the boil water and leave for 40 seconds before adding more water.

A perfectly fine filter cone
A perfectly fine filter cone, works just fine! Wish they were available in the regular store though, it's nuisance to have to order such a normal ordinary little thing as a coffee filter cone. However with all the new methods out to make coffee, this simple and delicious way is just out of style I guess except where there isn't electricity or perhaps camping. But glad I got it!
