Wonderful recovery suit for ridiculous huge dog post neuter!
I recently had my extra large dog (GSD, abnormally tall & long aka looks like a mini horse) neutered and this suit saved my sanity during his recovery! I was a tad worried ordering online because he is a really large dog so I decided to just get the largest size and it fit him pretty well. It was a tad tight so we did make a little adjustment to around his front legs but it worked really well for a neuter recovery on a really big dog. The suit was made from nice breathe-able material that didn’t cause him to overheat or irritate the site. It was easy to remove briefly for him to go to the bathroom in and to put back onto him. Easy to clean, durable even for my large GSD and it was really cute in the blue!

Excellent recovery suit for large dogs, like German Shepherds
I spent a lot of time searching for a surgery recovery suit that would actually fit my XL German Shepherd. For size reference, he’s tall, weighs 106 lbs and measures about 33” long, so finding post-surgery clothing that fits him comfortably can be difficult. Size 2XL fit him nicely with room for comfort. This suit has excellent stretch, which makes it easy to get on and off while still fitting securely without being restrictive. The fabric is soft, breathable, and flexible, and it fully covers his abdominal incision area from a recent biopsy, which prevents licking during recovery. It has a tail opening, which makes it practical for bathroom breaks for most dogs but with his GI issues I roll it up temporarily just to be sure to keep it clean when he’s outside. I liked it so much I bought a second one so he can wear one while the other is being washed. If you have a German Shepherd, or other big breed recovering from surgery, this recovery suit is a great alternative to a cone and worked extremely well for us.

SurgiSnuggly and Ecollar in coordination with each other
I bought the SurgiSuggly surgical recovery bodysuit (size XLL) for my 3 year old dog, Copper, who was neutered. In my opinion and in my particular case this surgical suit works best in coordination (not in lieu of) with an Ecollar. For example, (1) When Copper is unsupervised during the evening when the household is sleeping, no one is home, etc. the Ecollar is the chosen tool. (2) When Copper is supervised the SurgiSnuggly is the chosen tool because it allows Copper a comfortable fit, to move about more freely in the house, in the car, eat his food, etc. Additionally, I like SurgiSnuggly because of the breathable & stretchable material, fit, look and ease of use when putting it on, taking it off and ability to roll up the back end when taking Copper for a walk and/or potty break. How did I come up with this conclusion? Unknown to me my dog, while unsupervised, was initially licking the material (first few days after surgery) that was covering the surgery area causing the material directly adjacent to the surgery area to become moist while touching the surgery area itself which can cause bacteria and subsequently potential infection. In my opinion the SurgiSnuggly provides short term protection should Copper start licking the material adjacent to surgery area as long as he is supervised and instructed to stop within a short time of noticing. If he continues to lick the area eventually the material will become saturated with his saliva causing the surgery area to become moist. I did call the seller and they were very helpful and explained that I could try using a telfa pad (non-stick unlike a gauze pad) in between the surgical area and surgical suit. Unfortunately, the telfa pad would not stay in place and fall to the floor so this was not an option in my case. Perhaps a future design will include a pouch of some type to hold a telfa pad in place thus allowing an extra barrier of protection to the surgery area. Best wishes in keeping your dog healthy and safe yet as comfortable as possible post surgery.

Your dog will love this more than a cone after surgery.
I am so glad I purchased the Surgi Snuggly Surgery Recovery Suit for my dog. They were so much more comfortable wearing this than the traditional cone. Instead of constantly bumping into things and trying to get the cone off, they were able to relax and move around normally. The suit did an amazing job protecting the surgical wound and kept my dog from licking or bothering the incision, which gave me so much peace of mind during recovery. It fit well, was easy to put on, and held up great throughout the healing process. If your pet is facing surgery, I highly recommend giving this recovery suit a try. It made the recovery period much less stressful for both of us!

Love this Shirt
We adopted a rescue dog in April. I purchased the shirt before he came as an alternative to the cone since he was coming to us 3 days after his neuter. We used the shirt right away with him and were so pleased with the results. He is a big dog and this fits him well. It is extremely well made, it has a pleasing appearance and very soft. Great coverage on my large dog and is very durable. He also wears it during fireworks and some loud noises due to we don't really know what he had to deal with before we got him. If it sounds like gun fire he panics even more. He wears it during those times and it seems to really comfort him as well. He loves the feeling and when I bring it out if he's scared, he puts his head right in. He's wearing it now!! Will buy another as he is starting to wear it out.

It’s alright
I bought this surgical suit upon recommendation from my vets office to keep on my dog after her spay and a lump removal near her hind leg. We had to keep her away from the spay incision and stitches so we thought this suit would be nice to help calm her, protect her wounds, and keep her away from licking her stitches. We used this in combination with a cone. The first week was great and I liked that the suit fit snugly and was easy to roll up for potty time. The suit is constructed well and was easy to put on. We are almost at the 2 week mark, however, and I’m not as happy now. The suit has stretched out significantly but I haven’t found a way to get it to shrink back down. We also had to wash the suit twice and the Velcro doesn’t hold as well as it did initially. In addition, our dog has been able to wiggle out of the suit twice this week. Luckily, we had a cone on our dog so she couldn’t get to her wounds but we would’ve been in trouble if we relied on just the suit. With the suit being so stretched, it moves around a lot and we are constantly having to pull it up. We did measure her for size and the sizing is right but I’m disappointed that the fabric stretched like it did. Overall, I think this surgical suit is a good option for shorter durations and is good for keep wounds covered, however, I think for longer durations the quality isn’t quite there. The photo I attached is one of the many times the rear part fell down and caught my dogs legs.

Used on 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Buy it!!
I bought the Medium-Long for my female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for her spay surgery. It allowed her to spend the recovery time out of a cone. She totally left her stitches alone while wearing this miracle garment. Not only that, every time she was out of her Surgi-Snuggly, she would try to scratch her stitches using her back legs. The cone did nothing to deter that. As soon as I put the Surgi-Snuggly on her, she would immediately leave her stitches alone and stop trying to scratch them with her back legs. She spent all day in this and slept in the suit at night and did not seem to mind it at all. It made her recovery time soooooo much better for her and for me. Then, my male Cav needed to be neutered and to have an umbilical hernia repaired. Out came the Surgi-Snuggly again. Although my female is more thickly built and she is a couple of pounds overweight, the same exact Surgi-Snuggly fit my long, lean male just fine. He also tries to scratch his tummy stitches with his back legs any time the Surgi-Snuggly is not on him. For him, as a male, I pull the Surgi-Snuggly up around his chest when I take him to potty to be sure he doesn’t pee on it. Again, the cone did nothing to handle him trying to scratch his stitches with his back legs. He did find a way to try to chew at his testicles (not his stitches, but his actual testicle skin) while in the Surgi-Snuggly. I think I hadn't pulled it on him tight enough. So now I pull it on more tight (but not too tight – the fabric is very stretchy). And I do put his cone on him to sleep at night to be extra safe. I put a disposable male diaper on him and then put the Surgi-Snuggly on over that. He doesn't mind any of it. He spends his days like that while he's recovering and it's working just as great for him as it did for my female. The velcro on the back flap is getting a little less "sticking" than it was when I first bought it, but considering how many times a day I undo it and redo it for him to potty (and did many times for my female), I'm extremely happy with this purchase. (And really, the undoing process is super easy and fast. It sounds complicated or like a pain, but it's really not bad.) This is a miraculous product that has allowed my dogs to calmly heal and feel relaxed and to LEAVE THEIR STITCHES ALONE!!! I would buy this again in a heartbeat and cannot rate it highly enough. Thank you! P.S. Photo of my female near the end of her healing wearing her purple Surgi-Snuggly with her harness over it and the leash still attached. After our short walk, she climbed right up on her bed and fell asleep before I took her leash and harness off. She was super comfy. 😊 EDITED to add 2 photos of our long and lean puppy in his Surgi-Suggly. This is what it looks like after daily use for about 2 1/2 weeks total between my two pups surgeries. I dried it today to help it shrink a little to fit my little guy better. Also, this is totally ideal for spay and keeping a female from her stitches. Also ideal for keeping him away from his hernia stitches. But I have to fasten the back tightly to be sure he can't reach his neuter stitches. Just to be safe, I put a cone on him for bedtime. TL;DR: Used Medium-Long on my female Cav (thickly built and a little overweight) for spay surgery and my male Cav (long and lean and skinny) for hernia repair and neuter surgery. Worked great for both. Prevents them from scratching tummy stitches with back legs. Didn’t need cone for female. Used cone at first with my male and then only overnight with my male to be extra safe. Surgi-Snuggly made both dogs relax and leave their stitches alone. Both wore Surgi-Snuggly constantly during recovery and seemed totally comfortable. As soon as it’s on, they leave their stitches alone. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! 😊

Smudge LOVES his “super suit”! Post op & more
Smudge is at times what some may call surly. At a year old and can be a love bug or menace. Post neuter the vet suggested one of these suits. We didn’t know if the surgery would include abdominal exploration as he had an undescended testes but fortunately he only needed one incision. I also bought a cheap inflatable collar after having a really good experience with a previous dog using one. Part of the reason I decided upon this version is because I read it was breathable. My dog seems to always run hot and that makes him uncomfortable, so it was really important for me to have some thing that would be lightweight. The package arrived the day after surgery, long enough for me to remember why we hate cones (even the new less painful flexible ones). I was disappointed to see the package wasn’t sealed, it was likely a return for size, but it did not appear used and out of desperation I kept it & glad I did. The size chart was accurate (he’s a medium long), and the suit is very stretchy. It is quite snug on him but has give which is good because otherwise I’d never get the second paw through (takes some contortion on both our parts). However from there it’s a piece of cake and slips easily over his tail and fastens securely as designed. I describe the support as being firm but forgiving and there are no gaps in the fabric but he is able to move freely (he is still able to jump and leap which is why we have to use 2 kinds of sedation). He can urinate with the suit on but I usually roll it up a bit as his stream sometimes hits his belly and in case he needs to defecate (we’ll talk more about that in a minute). While he actually appears EAGER for me put it on him, my son tried to adjust it once and he growled at him so I do think major trust is involved on both parts. I had a previous dog that was HIGHLY reactive, and there’s no way he would have tolerated this being put on him, even by me. The Velcro alone would have sent him over the edge. But Smudge isn’t nearly that sensitive so we’re good! The suit doesn’t prevent him from licking the outside so I paired it with the inflatable collar when I couldn’t keep a close eye on him or didn’t feel like stopping him for the billionth time as the incision needs to stay dry. Even though I had his normal collar through the loops of the inflatable, by day four he figured out how to wedge the inflatable collar against some thing and pop his head out so I was glad for the back up of the suit. I can also confirm it’s washable as the 2nd night post op high on meds despite being fully house trained I found him crouched by the back door pooping in his suit (forgive my indelicacy). Fortunately it was firm and I was able to immediately wash it and hang it to dry for wear the next day & just used the inflatable collar that night (always have a backup!). He likes it so much I’m even considering trying to use it as a calming tool (can’t hurt) in the future. When I put it on him he prances around and given the color and his attitude the entire family has been referring to it as his “super suit.” So much better than the “cone of shame” he endured the first night which had him scared, uncomfortable, and frustrated. With that being said, because it doesn’t restrict us movement, we definitely have to rely on meds and the inflatable collar to slow him down. That little bit of doubt as to whether or not he can fit somewhere or jump up on some thing was actually beneficial during this time given his extra bouncy nature. If you have a calm dog, this might not matter. One final tip is if your dog’s fur is prone to matting, I would highly recommend extra detangler and brushing out his coat while using. Not terrible, but I definitely would have issues if I didn’t do it every couple of days even with his fur being pretty short. In summary: highly recommend, pair with a second barrier for licking, use detangler, and have patience. Happy healing!

Worked very well
Worked very well for my Irish Wolfhound for her recovery from surgery. Fit her very well, the velcro was great and it covered all of my Wolfie. I would use the velcro to secure the back end part when she went outside. No issues or complaints from her when she was wearing it.

Surgical cover
Easy to put on. But after a few scratching the suit riped on the side.

Best Purchase Ever Made!
Bought this for my Coton de Tulear’s post-spaying healing use. The suit allows my dog to be as normal as possible without having to deal with the cone. I keep the back up so that she can do her business. With the suit on, she doesn’t even try to lick her incision. She did when we took it off once to let her relax from the suit for a while. At first we thought the suit is not big enough for her. But it is really stretchy and not as difficult to put on as we initially thought. SL is the perfect size for her (following the size chart guidelines). Out of all the purchases I have made over the past 6 months since we welcomed the puppy home, this is the best purchase I have ever made. What a relief knowing that her incision is well protected! She moves freely in the suit and the pink suit looks cute on her too!

A recommander!

Excellent product but not a collar replacement
Great but your dog may feel invincible so watch closely and use collar as well to calm your dog down.
