I recently purchased this 10 Gb SFP for my home network, and I'm extremely pleased with its performance. It works flawlessly with my Ubiquiti switches, which was a relief as I had concerns about compatibility. The SFP was easy to install and has exceeded my expectations. It provides fast and reliable data transfer at 10 Gb speeds, which is essential for my home network needs. I have been able to transfer large files and stream high-quality video with no issues. In addition to its outstanding performance, the SFP was also very inexpensive, making it an excellent value for the price. I was able to purchase several units without breaking the bank, which is a huge advantage for my budget. Worked good for a few months. Then intermittent connectivity. It was getting super hot but I hear these run warm anyway, Used Amazon troubleshooter with no luck. Replaced it with a different one and it works great. Tried to find the way to contact seller to see about warranty but Amazon just has you going in circles.

As I was researching 10GbE switches and Ethernet adapters, I read several reviews that recommended 6COM transceivers. I decided to give them a try. I don't own any transceivers from competing brands so I cannot offer a comparison, but I can confirm that they seem to offer consistent, trouble-free 10G performance. The one thing that I did not expect was the operating temperature of these devices. I use one with a QNAP Thunderbolt 3 to 10GbE adapter. The first time I picked up the QNAP adapter to put it into my backpack, my finger came to rest on this transceiver and I nearly dropped everything. It was HOT. I contacted 6COM, who responded promptly and confirmed that the normal operating temperature of the transceiver is 158F! Before you write off 6COM, understand that this is normal. 10G devices designed for use with copper ethernet cables (as opposed to fiber) run hot. I just hadn't realized how hot. And I had assumed this was due to the Aquantia (now Marvell) chipset used in most 10GbE adapters. It turns out that heat generation is just inherent with copper-based 10G devices. The bottom line is that I do recommend this 6COM device for anyone looking for a 10G transceiver to use with standard CAT6 or 6a copper cables. Just be aware of its operating temperature so you don't end up getting burned...literally.

Compatible with the Ubiquiti Dream Router 7. Reported 10G right off the bat, no issues detected. Great value for the SFP port.

My use case is a personal development network with two high end desktop workstations, one with AMD Ryzen 9 and the other with Intel i7. Both are running Ubuntu Linux 22.04.2 PRO and I am using a Mikrotik CRS306-4S-1N switch. Both Desktop systems have dual 10G NICs and cable into the switch with 6COM 6C-SFP-10G-T SFP+ 10G RJ45 Adapters and CAT8 cabling. As soon as everything was plugged in the systems came right up and everything was fast and sweet. Don't forget to plug in the backhaul cable from the switch to your in-house network feed otherwise no DHCP and the 10G connections don't com up. Highly recommended. This is plug and play and the most practical sense. Installation time was about an hour and that include putting boards in two machines, running cables, attaching adapters and installing switch. "Settings/Network/Ethernet/Wired/enp11s0f0 showed connected at 10000 Mb/s immediately.

Preislich ist das Modul absolut in Ordnung und liefert technisch genau das, was man von einem 10G Kupfertransceiver in dieser Kategorie erwarten kann. Die Verbindung wird stabil aufgebaut und die Kompatibilität mit verschiedenen Geräten ist gut. In meinem Setup hat das Modul auch zusammen mit dem YuanLey 6-Port 2.5G Unmanaged Switch problemlos funktioniert. Beide Geräte arbeiten sauber zusammen und ermöglichen hohe Übertragungsraten, ohne dass eine besondere Einrichtung nötig ist. Für alltägliche Anwendungen oder anspruchsvollere Netzwerkszenarien ist diese Kombination grundsätzlich gut nutzbar. Ein klarer Schwachpunkt zeigt sich jedoch bei der Entriegelungslasche, also dem kleinen Haltemechanismus, mit dem das Modul im Switch einrastet. Bereits nach zwei Mal Aus und Einstecken war dieser Teil bei mir gebrochen. Das wirkt nicht besonders robust und ist vor allem dann ein Nachteil, wenn man das Modul gelegentlich umstecken muss. Für feste Installationen mag das weniger ins Gewicht fallen, für häufige Wechsel ist es jedoch problematisch. Im Betrieb wird das Modul spürbar warm, was bei 10G Kupfermodulen grundsätzlich normal ist. Die Wärmeentwicklung war bei mir zwar deutlich, hat die Funktion aber nicht beeinträchtigt und blieb im üblichen Rahmen. Insgesamt bietet das Modul eine solide technische Leistung zu einem attraktiven Preis. Die stabile Verbindung und die einfache Nutzung sprechen für sich. Die schwache Haltemechanik trübt jedoch den Gesamteindruck. Wer das Modul hauptsächlich stationär betreibt, kann es gut verwenden, sollte aber wissen, dass die Lasche nicht besonders langlebig ist.

El adaptador llega perfectamente envuelto y protegido. Lo estoy usando en un home lab, para comunicar dos switch (uno mikrotik y otro cisco) y funciona muy bien, estan separados unos 20 metros uno del otro. En cuanto conecté todo, los sistemas funcionaron de maravilla, todo fue rápido y sin problemas, plug and play. Tras realizar una suite de pruebas con varios equipos conectados, veo que la comunicación a mejorado muchisimo. Totalmente recomentadable

Lo uso da un paio di mesi collegato su ont ZTE Openfiber con porta 2.5G e cavo patch cat6a da 15 metri. Negozia il link a 10G non a 2.5G. Sul Mikrotik il modulo va lasciato tutto in auto altrimenti non funziona e da problemi come si può leggere in rete. Al contrario di quanto descritto però, lo trovo molto stabile e dalle prestazioni solide. Non si è mai bloccato. Scalda, ma come tutti moduli sfp+ su rame. Io gli ho aggiunto un piccolo dissipatore passivo sulla punta. Vedremo d'estate come si comporta.
