Great, but other size options would be nice
(Maybe they're new since I bought, but I now see there are other sizes available.) I used this to reupholster 6 beat-up Ikea chairs that I got for free (roughly, top: 17", bottom: 13.5, depth: 15.25; 44/35/39 cm). If you measure carefully and layout efficiently, you can cut 4 chair covers in single pieces. The remaining two you can create by gluing together pieces of the leftovers. The 2" thickness of high density, 44 pound-rated, foam is great for firm but comfortable dining chairs. I can't speak to durability, though others have. My only gripe is that this is only available (on Amazon) in 2x24x72. It's possible to do 6 chairs with this size, but there was very little room for mistakes. It would be nice to have wider and/or longer options for a project like this, without having to buy 2 full pieces. To glue, spray each edge that you want to attach with 3M Super 77 adhesive. (Do it outside - it gets all over the place.) I made 3 or 4 sweeps, a few seconds each; you want the edge moistened, but not soaked. Wait 15 seconds. Line up the ends and push together. Alignment doesn't have to be perfect, but if you miss by a lot, you have a few seconds to pull apart and try again. Wait 30 seconds, until they stick together when suspended by one of the pieces. Give it a good smoosh so that there's contact along the whole length of the edge. Let the glue set for at least 30 minutes before using the glued piece on furniture. Works great. Even if you try not to spray yourself or touch any of the wet glue edges, you'll probably need some acetone to clean up your hands. To cut, the pros use specialty foam cutters. I tried their recommendation to substitute with reciprocating meat knives. It works but not well. I discovered it's much easier and more accurate to use a cheap utility knife with a sharp blade. Mark your lines with a Sharpie. Score the line with the knife using light/medium pressure - just a little into the surface, not all the way. Once scored, make 3 or 4 more slightly harder passes with the knife held vertically, separating along the score line with the fingers of your other hand. You'll get a line that's as true as your score line and reasonably clean - certainly good enough for spray gluing edges. I needed about 2 yards of fabric, which I got from a remainders pile for $20. A can of spray paint for the wood, and I have 6 decent dining chairs - much plusher, softer, and more attractive than the original Ikeas - for about $10 each.

The best upholstery foam I have found yet!
I had needed to reupholster my vintage bent bamboo loveseat and had researched numerous different manufacturers that offered 6in foam pads within a reasonable price range. In the past I have bought 6in foam pads that were barely 4.5-5in thick, no matter where I purchased it from. I recently came across this one on Amazon and I was intrigued but certainly skeptical. It didn't come in the size I needed so I had to purchase a longer size, which wasn't a big deal for me. After measuring out what I needed, I simply used my electric knife from 1982- and it cut as smoothly as butter! I have to admit, I couldn't be more impressed by this product in more ways tan one! Usually, these products have to "sit" for 24-48hrs to obtain their "full potential thickness" (which is basically a joke so in 48hrs you're too frustrated to deal with the hassle to return it) BUT not with this product! The moment I broke the seal of plastic it swelled up 300x than what I pulled out of the delivery box and I knew that I finally found the perfect product! By the 2nd hour, it was already 6in thick! It is very comfortable, not too firm but firm enough! My daughter has already declared it as "her reading couch " and as been sitting in it for 6-8hrs-throughout entire night reading and it shape returns to looking brand new, the moment she gets up and walks away! I am so impressed with this product that I am planning to replace the sagging cushions on my sofa (that is barely 2yrs old by the way) and I can not wait! No regrets!

Sitting in the clouds
Really good product. I had thought I wouldcut it with my elec knife. Sorry no blades found. Anyway used a regular kitchen knife and it was very easy. Very clean and crisp.

Works as advertised!
Our couch began to have a "slouch" on one side. As the rest of the couch was just fine we turned to Amazon to help us with our issue. Having great reviews we went with Foamtouch. The product comes rolled up in the box, all you have to do is unroll it and place under your couch cushions. You notice the added support instantly! For the price point of roughly $40, it is well worth the purchase over replacing the couch or trying to repair, and possibly damaging it. The only reason I lowered the rating to 4/5 is that the foam does show when viewing the couch from the front. Albeit not much, you can adjust the cushions to minimize this. That being said, the comfort and easy installation make this product a "no brainer" and I highly recommend it. Will update with durability in the coming months.

This is great foam. Bought the 3" for dining room chairs. I can sit on it and I don't bottom out!

Works well on old couch
This stuff is pretty good. I put one 2" layer on one side of my seat cushions of my old couch. It's pretty firm. It would be nice if it was a little softer, but it's comfortable. I ended up putting it foam side down so it's still offering support and cushion but the original cushion is on top which has a little more give. It has no smell at all which I was really happy about. The 2" thickness is pretty easy to cut with a good pair of strong scissors. I did not need to glue it or anything. I just placed it on top of the cushion under the slip cover and put the slip cover back on which took some effort but was not too hard. My family was really excited about having a comfy couch again. It's hard to get rid of your old couch when your first born was born on it.... When he moves out, he's taking it with him.

Worked great for us
Our couch was good but the cushion was way to soft for us. This did the trick and was easy to change out the cushions. Now we love our couch.

Well worth such a modest investment
My couch is 25 years old but is in excellent cosmetic shape and I still like it. Unfortunately, the springs have lost much of their support. When sitting upon it, one would sink down a little too much, making it a little harder to get up, especially for older people. I inserted some thin plywood and that helped a bit was too hard by itself so I cut up a mattress topper and placed that on top of the plywood (then the couch cushions). That was better but not great. Since mattress toppers are usually made of some sort of memory foam, we were still sinking into the couch a little too much. Thus, thought I would try this polyurethane foam. Although not perfect, I have found this foam to be a marked improvement. I bought the 3" but may at some point try the 2" or even 1". Having used this foam every day since it was delivered, I can say there has definitely been an improvement in comfort and support, which is exactly what I wanted. It was very easy and quick to cut (I used a combination of scissors and electric knife). Only took a few moments. As for the product itself, I have no complaints. My only issue is how it works for me and my couch. Entering through the front door, the couch is one of the first things one sees and with this white foam elevating the cushions was quite noticeable. My couch has rather a busy floral pattern and fortunately I had a sheet I was not using with a similar pattern. Wrapping that sheet around the foam and tucking it in has improved the visual quite a bit, but it is still obvious that something is underneath the cushions. For now, I am getting more comfortable with the look and am quite pleased with the added comfort and support. Am considering trying some of the 1" or 2" foam at some point but expect that I would have to sacrifice some of the support with thinner foam. Not ready to try that yet. Just pleased to be getting more life out of a couch we like. It is much better than it was.

Was perfect for our DIY custom cushion
It’s really comfy and appropriately firm. Easy to cut in shape/size you desire (tip: use bread knife & it’ll make it super easy). Thick enough and i used fabric glue to stick a fabric cover.

Great quality.
We replaced the cushions in our living room furniture. The foam was perfect! Thickness, price, sturdiness and easy to work with. Following unpacking the foam we let is sit overnight to remove any dents associated with packing. It cut very cleanly and nicely with the electric knife.

Excellent quality
Bought this to add an upholstered cushion to my wooden antique chairs that were only covered in a thin piece of leather. The thickness of the foam is uniform throughout the piece, extremely comfortable and feels firm enough to keep its shape. I had considered using a memory foam instead but I am so happy I purchased this! Make sure you have a large and sharp pair of scissors to cut as it is quite thick, Will definitely be buying more of this product now that I see how great the quality is!
