We live in a tropical climate and want real cotton sleepwear. Before I even took this out of the package, I could see from the shininess of the fabric it was synthetic. The tag reads 100 percent polyester. I don't think that is true either; it feels partially rayon to me. The material is slightly cream colored compared to the white lace, but in my opinion that is not a big negative. I can't imagine that my granddaughter will need to wear a shirt under it because the neckline does not look too low to me. I bought the Little Girls size 6-7. She is 6 years old and is in the 90th percentile for her age in weight and height. I will correct this review if the gown does not fit her as I think it will. The matching socks were nice to receive. The company that sent this item seems quite intent on pleasing it's customers.I was right. My granddaughter loved, loved, loved this nightgown. She put it on right away and insisted on wearing it during the day as well as at night. However, even though her mother felt it fit well, I thought it was too small for her.
