Heavy but gets the job done.
I have multiple DeWalt 20v cordless tool and batteries and have for the most part been very happy with them, so I decided to but their pole saw when I needed one. It is simple to assemble and operate, and with the center pole attachment has good reach. It has also had surprisingly good power and cutting ability. I used it to take down most of the dead Hawthorne tree beside my driveway with no problem on the dead dry wood. Soon after I found one of my neighbors trees had grown over to the point it was damaging my roof and being careful(and experienced) I was able to trim it back off the house to a point it will take a long to be a problem again. After both those projects and others the 5Ah battery still had plenty of charge. There is a downside though, first when the saw is fully assembled the pole is fairly wobbly, but I have read that is common with electric pole saws. The other less than ideal thing with this saw is the weight. I have developed serious health issues this year, and they have left me very weak, with a loss of 60 % of my diaphragm usage and therefore 60% of my lung capacity, and partial paralysis in both arms so the weight is a serious issue, but by pre-planning and improvising supports I have been able to use it fine, and it does work well. The batteries last surprisingly long, and if you have the chain spinning before contacting the wood to be cut, it never bogs down or stalls...at least that is how mine is.

It is high quality, easy to use, and worth the money
I have a 2 acre yard with many mature oak and pine trees. I needed something that could get me 20-25 feet high to clip branches close to my home. I had a tree company quote my yard prior to buying this tool and they wanted almost $4,000 to trim my trees! This, o thought I would try this and do it myself. I have many dewalt tools so the set up and battery is a breeze. I was up and running in 5 minutes, shaped 4 large trees in an hour safely and had zero issues cutting. I’ve only had the tool 4 days but o never have had issues with my dewalt tools and they are all quality built and intuitive. Get it!

Works well but note the comments about the weight
Unless you have very good arm strength, pay attention to the warnings about the weight of the saw. First, the saw is heavy. Second, almost all the weight is at the cutting end. This means when the saw is set at maximum length, almost all the weight is at the opposite end of the handle from where the user is holding the saw. This makes for excessively poor leveraging. I consider myself at or above average arm strength, but I find using the saw at maximum length requires excessive muscle strain and exhaustion. Thus, it requires taking a break after a few cuts. The saw cuts exceptionally well, and even considering the weight far surpasses a non-powered pruning saw and extension clippers. The weight is much less an issue when not cutting at a distance or when removing the extension tubes.

Very rigid tool and great investment
A little heavy for the reach, but very awesome. I was able to cut several branches and the battery was still showing 3 out of 4 bars. I wore out before it did! DeWalt, once again, has made a quality tool. Great value and investment.

Very Useful Tool
I've been using this for 2-3 hours a day trimming branches in my forest land for the past month. This saw and a ladder will accomplish a lot. Battery life is better than expected and reasonable. I thought about giving this a 4 star review as I do have some issues with the saw, but I doubt that you can find a better one at this price point.Issues: The tool will not take the slightest compression. Anything less than a near-vertical (no-compression whatsoever) cut and the chain just stops until you release compression and re-start. The tool came with a safety for the two triggers that need to be held to run the chain. The safety jams when you least want it to, such as when up a ladder making awkward cuts. I cut the safety off (easy) and it makes a big improvement. The safety is nonsensical and probably driven by tort law.Very useful and seems to be reliable

Easy to use, very efficient
This guy can be used as two or three pieces. The extension piece in the center is super easy and fast to install.I used a Milwaukee to Dewalt adapter with this tool and it worked perfectly. I really expected to go through several 6.0 ah batteries while cutting branches. I covered about an acre of my yard trimming branches around the perimeter. I only used less than half of one batteries' charge. Still had 3 out of 4 bars on my single battery. I cut a lot of branches! In the cut, plenty of power as long as you got the blade spinning before bearing down on the branch. Chain was great. I really like the tilted head versus straight. The extension, though easy to install, has a small amount of give at each joint. The joints remained stable and this was easy to compensate for.I was able to reach quite high. Although not recommended for all.....you can reach with one arm directly overhead and make a cut, maximising reach. One has to be mindful of falling branches and also be prepared to catch your pole saw as it just begins to drip as well. Do it at your own risk and commensurate with your own physical ability! This saw is slightly chain-end heavy by design, but it worked well with plenty of torque on 5" or more branches.Yes, I would recommend.
