It is "real-life" help. Not only does it make you realize you are not alone it gives specifics on rebuilding after you've been torn down by a Narcissist. Tina's books and words are heartfelt, touching and empowering. They provide an education none of us ever thought we would need. Her words are truly life changing and bottom line- helpful. The experiences she shares from court battles, to dealing with your children and what's best for them, to working on your own recovery are key pieces and valid points to help support your battle. Her books have provided a lifeline and changed my life. This book in particular has allowed me to reflect, learn, grow and heal-- it provides invaluable tools for my own custody battle which after 3 years is at its height; but I am prepared. Ready. The hardest part about dealing with the Narcissist is convincing yourself that your own judgment is not skewed. Tina's experiences validate life with a Narcissist. She offers so much wisdom but without the know-it-all air like many experts may inadvertently evoke. She comes across so level-headed and relatable.I've learned a great deal from her. In every day situations I now find myself asking what would Tina do? What would she say? Would she accept that answer? Would she set a boundary there? And for me, this technique works to keep my healthy thought patterns in place and continue to fight the long fight of almost seven years now against a personality disordered individual who does not put our child's best interests first - and rarely does the Family court system. Because of advocates like Tina in my corner, I can keep going and my child is absolutely thriving despite the instability from his father.This book in particular offers so many reflection points, encouraging you to really consider what you've been through and then practical steps to HEAL. Ms. Swithin is able to step back from her situation and give clear and concise advice on how to get ones life on track both during and after life with a person or people with a cluster-B personality disorder.What I love so much about her books is, she speaks from experience, as a layperson -- and lets the reader into her life, admitting where she needed improvement -- and how far she has come. Wonderful book and wonderfully written.
