Q: Can you wear it as a back pack?

No it has an over the shoulder style of strap.

Q: I have a tal 64oz water bottle and am wondering if this would work. could you please tell me the diameter of the bottles it fits?

The diameter of a 64oz growler is 5", this item is made for the growler bottles so I can't guarantee it would fit anything else.

Q: Would this work with a 64oz wide mouth mason jar?

I don't think so. The growler is tapered towards the top in the shape of a standard 64 oz. growler with the glass finger hold at the top and the Velcro closure to snug the neoprene holder accommodates this finger hold. I assume a mason jar is a lot wider at the top, so it would probably not work.
