Playmobil RC Freight Train

This thing is cool. The engine and cars are well made. I think Playmobil takes a certain pride in producing a high quality product. My kid loves driving this thing around the track and blowing the horn. Make sure to buy a bunch of extra track ($$$), the amount they give you is just enough to make a small circle. I bought a TON of extra track and we set it up completely around our outdoor pool. We set up pretend train stations in different areas and we pick up and drop off Playmobil guys and other action figures to their increasingly complicated destinations... this sometimes goes on for hours.There is enough detail on the engine and cars to make them eye candy going down the track, but not so many tiny pieces that things are always breaking off. If a child is too young they might drop the engine or cars and break them, but as long as they don't fall off something high and the electronics inside stay dry, the train should last thru a couple sets of kids.

The media could not be loaded.  We had purchased this train as a Christmas present for our 5 year old daughter, that loves Playmobil. I have been a Playmobil fan for nearly 30 years, grew up with it in Germany, and still believe that it is one of the best Toy brands on todays market. The train is easy to operate and the tracks are also very easy to change up. The train lights up and has a few sound options which makes it even more fun. I had a train from Playmobil about 20 years ago, and it still works. We had purchased another wagon to go along with it, and also a little train station, which fits our Playmobil village perfectly. Both my girls 8 and 5 years old enjoy playing with it and have had hours of fun ! The tracks that come with it, only give limited possibilities of course, but you can easily purchase more tracks. Also, the train is actually not required to drive on the tracks.

Overall the train set is great. My problem is that this set came with a large while in the box and almost all the parts were not in their sealed bags. It would appear as if this was a used item and not brand new.

We purchased this train for our son who just turned four. Setup was simple. You just need insert batteries, snap attach a few parts onto the engine and flatbed car before use.My sons both love it. The remote is easy to use, the cars are easy to place on the tracks and it has a very sturdy feel to it. The containers can hold lots of things, and even filled with wooden blocks, the engine was able to to pull everything around the tracks nicely.I wish it had come with more track, but I suppose we can save up for some more.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase and the customer service that we got from Amazon. We purchased this train because our last two trains from Playmobil have stopped working and we love setting it up around our Christmas tree for children to play with it. This train first arrived being dysfunctional, but we called up Amazon and they sent us a new one overnight. I am most pleased with the customer service we got from Amazon and this train works a lot better than the other ones. There is no wire sticking out of the engine and remote control which I believe broke on the last two train sets. I also love the sounds that Playmobil added to their train set, it sounds close to a real train. Thank you, Amazon!!

Excellent value, rugged and well made. High tech controls.The locomotive and RC alone are worth the price. I am using this on a garden railway.

great train. My son set up to run in straight line, at this time, through his playmobil town. Easy controls. Lots of batteries needed. another car to carry things was something my kids would have liked.

Awesome train from Playmobil. Sturdy and with little breakable details. This is a playable toy that you will not worry having your kiddos playing with.

Nous avons ajouter un wagon ou il mets tous ces animaux , je pense pas acheté un jeu de rail car prend trop de place , la chambre de mon fils est petite 9# m. Un peu bruyant , consomme Bcp de pile , je le conseille , voir les tarif sur le web car varie entre 80€-140€. Je l aide pour le montage , je surveille l utilisation de la locommotive et je fais attention a la consommation des piles .

Solo puedo decir que a mi hijo (6 años) le encanta este Playmobil. Es un juguete con el que vuelve a jugar continuamente. Hay que reconocer que el tren está muy bien conseguido y las vías son resistentes.

Bought this as a Birthday present for my Grandson. I have a G-scale Garden railway and this is fully compatible with it, so Grandson would have a train of his own to run on my line (45mm track gauge).Delivery time was excellent. Arrived within 3 days of order as promised. Inner packaging containing the loco and wagon was a little damaged, I think manufacturer should provide better protection here, but that was the only negative issue, on to the good stuff.So what do you get for your money? Quite a lot. Radio controlled Diesel Locomotive; Flat wagon with a load of 3 containers (which all open). Oval of Playmobil plastic track; tack joiners; two figures and a few accessories.There is some basic assembly to carry out, but the instructions are very clear and expertly illustrated. I should imagine that it would be very difficult to get this wrong with such easy to follow instructions. The components are robust. They look like they will stand up to a certain amount of "abuse" from little hands.Adult supervision is required to install the batteries as a Philips screwdriver is required, but it's a really simple job, and again the instructions illustrate the battery fit perfectly. The loco battery holder is even labelled so that you cannot fit it the wrong way around.The loco is radio controlled by way of a 2.4Ghz radio control system. These can be a bit daunting to set-up to the uninitiated, but again Playmobil have really simplified the task of binding the transmitter to the loco, it literally is 2 button presses and you're off.The sound system, for a basic toy is really impressive (indeed my wife, who isn't into the train thing at all, commented how impressive the engine sounds were when I "fired it up).The controls are also very simple. You have push button controls for lights, horn and engine sounds, and a large dial in the middle to control speed and direction. Move the dial to the right- train moves forward. Left - train moves backwards. Centre - train stops. The lights change colour between white and red according to the direction of travel.To summarise, I'm really impressed. Big robust loco and wagon, great sound,good control, easy set-up. Good value for money, excellent play value for kids (and big kids too I reckon).

Endlich hat Playmobil wieder die Spielewelt der fernbedienbaren Züge, von Playmobil "RC-Train" genannt, um ein neues Basis-Set erweitert. Und wer die alten RC-Train Sets von Playmobil kennt, wird schnell feststellen: Der Preis für das Basis-Set ist gesunken, die Technnik hat sich nochmal verbessert und der Spielspaß ist gleich geblieben.==== Der Packungsinhalt ====Bei diesem Set dreht sich alles um das Thema "Cargo". Es werden also diesmal keine Personen, sondern Güter transportiert. Das Set enthält hierfür eine liebevoll gestaltete Diesel-Lokomotive mit neuer Fernbedienung, einen Anhänger, ein Schienenoval mit 12 runden und 2 geraden Schienen, 3 Cargo-Container und eine Zugsführer-Figur.Das Set besteht nur aus wenigen Teilen und Aufklebern und ist sehr rasch zusammengebaut. Es gibt auch praktisch keine "abbrechbaren" Kleinteile (wie z.B. die Stromabnehmer bei den elektrischen Zügen) die verloren gehen könnten.==== Die neue "Licht & Sound" Technik bei RC-Train ====Die neue Lokomotive und deren Fernbedienung arbeiten mit 2.4 GHz Technologie - das bedeutet sowohl Zug als auch Fernbedienung brauchen keine langen Antennen mehr und es können bis zu 16 Züge (ohne dem Kauf von Wechselquarzen) gleichzeitig betrieben werden. Zudem ermöglicht die neue Fernbedienung neben der Steuerung des Zuges in jeweils 4 Geschwindigkeiten, vorwärts wie rückwärts, noch einige Zusatzfunktionen:So kann man z.B. die Beleuchtung des Zuges über die FB ein und ausschalten, ein realisitisch klingendes Warnhorn ertönen lassen, oder die für eine Diesel-Lokomotive typischen Betriebsgeräusche zuschalten. Das klappt in der Praxis wunderbar. Zudem wechselt der Zug die Beleuchtung je nachdem in welche Richtung er gesteuert wird. In Fahrtrichtung leuchten immer die Scheinwerfer und gegen die Fahrtrichtung die roten Positionslichter. Das ist echt cool.==== Spielspaß ====Die neue Steuerung funktioniert sehr gut, wenngleich die 4 Geschwindigkeiten ein sehr langsames Fahren des Zuges nicht ermöglichen. Daher: Selbst die langsamste Geschwindigkeits-Stufe ist für Kinder schon etwas zu schnell um z.B. Waggons sicher auf ein Abstellgleis zu schieben. Das hat mit der alten, analogen, Steuerung besser funktioniert.Die zuschaltbaren Geräusche und die Beleuchtung machen viel Spaß. Wie von Playmobil gewohnt ist die Qualität des Spielzeugs tadellos - die Schienen sind unzerstörbar und können auch von einem Kleinkind problemlos zusammengebaut werden. Der Zug ist sehr robust, das Kupplungssystem für die Anhänger perfekt gelöst und von Kindern leicht bedienbar.==== Kritik ====Was den Inhalt des Sets betrifft bewegt sich Playmobil hier am absoluten Minimum. Ein Schienenoval mit nur 2 geraden Schienen wird auf die Dauer schon etwas langweilig. In den alten Sets gab es viel mehr gerade Schienen und mindestens 2 Weichen. Diese muss man jetzt teuer nachkaufen. Aber - dafür ist der Preis für dieses Set auch niedriger als früher.Weiters finde ich die neuen Tasten auf der Fernbedienung und am Zug für Kinder etwas zu klein geraten. Das sieht schon mehr nach Modellbau als nach Kinderspielzeug aus. Die alte RC-Train Fernbedienung wirkte da schon etwas robuster und Kinder-gerechter.Und zuletzt stört mich, dass die Zug-Beleuchtung nicht nur aus den Scheinwerfern des Zuges heraus leuchtet - sondern auch praktisch die ganze vordere (bzw. hintere) Zug-Verkleidung "erhellt" - was nicht so toll aussieht. Da hat man an der falschen Stelle (einer Ummantelung der LED's) gespart.==== Fazit ====Die genannten Kritikpunkte sind für mich kein Anlass für einen Sterne-Abzug.Von mir gibt es daher die vollen 5 Sterne und eine klare Kaufempfehlung für dieses tolle Set.Und ich hoffe, dass es auch bald einen ICE oder einen anderen Personenzug mit der neuen 2.4 GHz Licht & Sound Technikvon Playmobil geben wird.
