A good basic mic for limited applications.
I used this mic in a couple different ways so far.If you’re just using it for recording to a smartphone, it works just fine.Omnidirectional pickup but really does focus on the person wearing it. So some room noise will be present but nowhere near as much as with a shotgun mic.If you’re using it with a DSLR, you’re going to be disappointed. Depending on your gear, you may need a TRRS to TRS adapter. And you’ll definitely need an extension cable. More connections means more signal loss. The audio is just as clean, but the volume leaves much to be desired. If you are looking for smartphone recording only, this is a great value.

An excellent microphone, but you might need a TRRS adapter
I needed a lapel mike fast for my MacBook Pro computer, and I was grateful to get this one, shipped in just a day or two. The sound quality is great, and it worked plugged into my earphone/mike jack on the computer (TRRS jack), but it meant I had to do something else about the sound. Fortunately, you can use a bluetooth speaker or headphones with it. After getting a USB mike, I used the TRRS mike with an adapter on a desktop (Dell) computer with a TRRS/USB adapter, and it works beautifully. The only reason for giving 4 rather than 5 stars is the need for an adapter. Otherwise it's great. It draws power through the plug, so there are no batteries to worry about, and the volume, sensitivity and sound quality are excellent. It was a lifesaver when I needed it, and it continues to work well.

TRRS connector. Not TRS standard. Watch out, it might not work
Microphone worked well on and iPhone 6 for instance. But, when I went to use it with a DELL laptop (windows 10) to make a screen-cast video for school, it was not recognized by the machine. This was the exclusive reason why I bought the mic in the first place. After hours of struggling. I found the problem on the web..as mentioned by a previous reviewer above. “Thanks by the way” This is a TRRS connector. And not all devices/electronics are equip to accept and receive this type of connection. 3 stars because Amazon does not include this information when you are 1st buying the item. The specs aren’t very clear at first sight. Only to leave customers frustrated when the product is not working properly due to miss information in the 1st place. Inaccurate information on products is always bad for Bussines.

Surprisingly nice sound for the price
I needed a lapel mic for my DayJob and didn't want to spend a huge amount of cash. I've had good luck with AmazonBasics mica in the past so spring for the 2 pack of lapel mics. The sound is clear and even, free of background clicks and static that I associate with my other lapel mic. These work well with my cellphone, an old cell I use to record audio, Zoom H1 and my laptop. I used the pair with a jack splitter and still got clear audio. These are a great piece of equipment that can improve your audio quality for those pesky video meetings we ate all forced into. I use mine for a off the cuff podcast and to engage in teletherapy with clients.Great value

Good inexpensive external microphone for mobile devices.
I've used these microphones in a couple of different ways. I plugged it into the mic. port of a TRRS headset adaptor and plugged headphones into the headphone jack of the adaptor and used it with my laptop for video conferences. It works well and sounds good as long as your surroundings are quiet. This microphone is omnidirectional and picks up well.I tried this same setup but plugged into my Xbox One controller for gaming, but the microphone was sensitive enough to pick up the game and chat audio coming out of the open back headphones and cause terrible echo for my game party members.I also used the microphone to record some videos with my Samsung Galaxy S9 and the sound was great.

Surprisingly great quality sound for the price. The metal clip is better than others' plastic.
I was a bit skeptical that a mic at this price would sound good, but after making this first recording on my Samsung S9, I was amazed. Seriously. I am not an audiophile but the difference between using this mic and the built-in one (which is still very good) is profound. I look forward to using this when making videos on my laptop. Great job, Amazon. Remember that if you want to use this for live calls, you will need the splitter cable, and connect ear buds/headphones.

Excellent, decent price, would get more if needed
The mike works great if you have a second device for audio or Bluetooth device to wire. I had compliments on sound. Saving it for future projects. You’ll find similar mics used on chiropractic videos

Good Lavalier Mic for the Money
For what it costs, this microphone does not disappoint. It may not have the same tonal quality of a Rodes (which requires additional software), but it is far better than using the built-in microphone on a laptop. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Hopeless.
This is a very small mix and didn't work with my laptop but I had already thrown the packaging away...otherwise I would have returned it.

Great low cost mic, need to budget for extension and adapters.
Bought for a small project, much better audio than built in camera mics, especially from a distance. You will almost certainly need an extension lead. And if you are recording on a camera rather than a phone, will probably require a FRS — FRRS converter.

Good for Price
Pretty good sound quality for calls, recordings and demo videos. Sound and build quality will not compete with Rode SmartLav but then this is a fraction of the price..

Not recommended
I didn't like the quality of this mic. Sound doesn't seem like sterio.

Overpriced, nasty, cheap Chinese tat
It has never worked, tried everything to get PC to recognise it as a mic to no avail, plenty of other microphones are picked up no bother. Either the product is broken or poorly designed. £16 is a joke for what this is. If i had the packaging I would return it.
