Well priced, good handling, comfy trackball
My son heard me talk about my preference for trackballs over a mouse so he wanted one to try out. He selected this one and used it for a couple of weeks before switching to a gaming mouse. I then inherited a new trackball. Happy days for me.I use this with my laptop so I don't need as much desk space as a mouse needs. I like the button placement and I love the feel of the thumb placed trackball. I have only used this with my work laptop so I have not used it for gaming. I do use it for 8-14 hours, several days per week and it has worked excellently. If you have not used a trackball, it might be good to try one if using a mouse makes your hand hurt. It does take a little time to adjust to the different movement but I think it is worth the time. This trackball is reasonably large similar to the older ones I used from another LOGIcal TEChnical manufacturer. I do not notice a significant difference in operation of the other brand trackball over this one. It is solid, works well, and has several more buttons. It is large which works well for my big mitts but wasn't comfortable for my son's smaller hands. While a great trackball for me, it might not fit smaller hands. One of my favorite features is that it is wired. There is no need for batteries but cord placement is the counterpoint.

wonderful mouse
works as advertised. I now have 2 in use (one at my desktop and one at my work issued lap top) and a new one in reserve "in case one fails".

Decent But Small Optical Trackball Mouse.
Decent wired optical trackball mouse compared to other current market offerings. I did not want to spend too much since no mouse is a lifetime investment. Whatever the quality or price these are all disposable accessories. I did not have any issues with the elecom ex-6 trackball sticking. If anything I found the trackball a little too smooth but there is a 5th button on this ex-6 that slows down the mouse pointer which helps. I've been using a Microsoft Optical Trackball mouse daily since 2002 ( almost 20 years) with no issues until last week when my toddler threw it across the room and the right mouse button stopped clicking. What I miss is the size, Led light up trackball and comfort. The elecom is much smaller in size and trackball and to my surprise for the price the trackball is not Led lit. I have Medium sized man hands and the ex-6 is small for me but I have no issues with sustained long term (9am to 5pm) use. Big hands should not get this. My favorite qualities of the elecom ex-6 is the quality of the buttons. They are firm and clicky. Over all quality seems solid but I don't expect this to last me 20 years like my previous Microsoft Optical Trackball did. If I get 3 to 5 years out of the ex-6, and I think I should, then I am a happy customer.

BEST THUMB MOUSE (way better than Logitech Ergo)
I don't write reviews often, but this mouse is the best. I initially bought the Logitech Ergo thumbball mouse, and IT WAS AWFUL! Random, severe lag spikes. I am quite tech-savvy, and I spent a lot of time troubleshooting it before I eventually started looking for other options. I am so glad I found this mouse. It is WAY better. If you're like me, buy this one. The Logitech one blows. It's sitting on my desk now, unused, and that won't change. Another gripe with the Logitech is the inability to switch to wired (which I assume would've solved the lag issue), even though it had a port. Apparently, it's only for charging lol. Whoever made that call at Logitech is out of touch. If you have a port, make it able to handle the device communication. Anyway, this mouse is NOT a cheap-feeling mouse. It feels as good, sturdy, and high-quality as the Logitech.

Great mouse, need to grab a back up for the future at this price!
I love this mouse and cannot believe I haven't had one before. Initially the ball was hard to move and getting stuck, however after removing the ball and placing it back it it glided very, very smoothly. I am also very left hand dominate so I roll the ball with all of my fingers and rest my hand on it perfectly. If someone else needs it, they just move the mouse to the right. I am used to using right handed things, and am used to the set up over a left handed mouse. I know a bit strange but it works wonders for me. I am thinking about picking up a back up due to its quality and affordability. Very happy I got it!

Ridiculous Friction
This trackball was a little smaller in my hand than the Logitech ones I have used, which caused a little discomfort. I state that in case you are considering one of these.I will not be using the one I just purchased from Elecom... or buying another one from this manufacturer.Moving the trackball is the computing equivalent of walking through mud. I could feel the resistance as I tried to roll the ball with my thumb. Even after cleaning the ball and the socket, my thumb became sore from literally pushing and pulling the trackball. It'sabout as sooth as a moon crater. On top of that, the cursor frequently drifted, whether in use or not. While I realize my product my be defective, this has not happened to me with other devices and I will not buy another Elecom trackball.
