Richard Clayderman: A Romantic Christmas | Piano Sheet Music Book with Guitar Chords | Holiday Songbook for Intermediate Players | Christmas Piano Solo Arrangements for Study and Performance

This book contains some (but not all) of the pieces from Richard Clayderman's Christmas album, which bears the same name as the book. The transcription of these pieces is excellent. As such, these are intended for more advanced pianists. There are some changes from the namesake album (at least the copies of the album I have, which are the LP and CD), such as the inclusion of a different Ave Maria (Gounod is on the album, Schubert is in the book) and a shorter version of O Tannenbaum, which is combined with O Holy Night. Both of these are on another Clayderman Christmas compilation, but not Romantic Christmas. I'm not going to let this detract from the star rating for this, however, as the arrangements are both well-done. One word of warning: these pieces are intended to be played on a full size keyboard. There are some lower notes which exceed the range of my Yamaha E413 (and would be beyond the reach of many other synthesizers). That doesn't mean you can't accommodate for a synthesizer, but it is a fair "heads up" to synth players. Of all the Christmas compilations I've accumulated for piano over the years, this is easily the best in terms of quality arrangements. I highly recommend tracking down a copy of this book if you are thinking of performing a piano solo of any of the included songs.

I love the piano arrangements and although it doesn’t have the jazzy boogie arrangement of jingle bells (I bought the book primarily for that arrangement), it is still a delightful set of pieces to play at Christmas time. The arrangements are all moderately easy to play and true to what you hear him play on his Christmas CD. If only it also had the jazzy version of Jingle Bells then my Christmas would be merrier and brighter..

I really loved this music book. My piano teacher was even impressed with it. I used it all through the Christmas holidays and look forward to playing from it again next Christmas season. I have been taking lessons close to five years; some songs were a little challenging but with hard work they can be accomplished.

Nicht als Noten für den Familienabend am Kamin geeignet. Dieser Notensatz ist gerade gespickt von Quintolen, Septolen, Verzierungen und ähnlichem. Wenn jemand 10 Jahre klassischen Klavierunterricht hatte und die Mondscheinsonate von Beethoven und Chopin's Nocturnen alle sauber spielen kann, dem dürften die Noten keine Schwierigkeiten bereiten, alle anderen sollten sich andere Weihnachtsnoten kaufen.
