Cheetah Mounts AS1B Single Shelf TV Component Wall Mount 18x16-Inch Shelving Bracket Bundle with 15-Feet HDMI Cable

I ordered 6 of these for various sites to hold some network equipment up off desks. They arrived in great shape and assembly was easy (about 3 minutes for the first one and 1 minute for the rest).Once the main components are together (that you see in the primary picture) there is a mounting bracket that gets installed tightly to the wall and then the shelf gets screwed to that. Let me tell you that if it's properly mounted, there is no entertainment or network hardware that you could possibly place on this that would make it fall down! Sturdy solid metal baby!*IF* the bracket can get mounted to the wall securely!The issue is the horrible mounting hardware they include in the box. They include some pretty heavy bolts and ideally you want this baby mounted to a solid wood or OSB backer but that isn't always possible. "Luckily" I thought, they include sheet rock anchors. I figured I would mount one side to a 2x4 in the wall and use the anchors on the other side. Brilliant except the anchors and the bolts are not compatible! The anchors are far too big for the bolts so the bolts pull right out with very little effort.I ended up spending $10 at the local home depot to get a set of anchors and bolts that fit.One more issue BTW, the bolt they include have a large hex end on them that must be nearly 1/2" thick. The problem is that they don't allow the shelf to sit flush to the mounting bracket during attaching so you have the choice to only use 1 or 2 (out of the way of the other metal) or supply your own screws.My guess is that someone screwed up and included those bolts by mistake..... they obviously are not the right fit for the anchors or the shelving unit itself. I ended up getting some 1/2" diameter 2.5" long screws with a standard phillips head to mount it along with some equal anchors. Since I bought 6 of these the $10 investment covered all of them and it wasn't that bad. If you are buying one, you might want to reconsider or at least be aware that you'll have $5-10 more into it on proper screws.*****Update******I have dropped the review another star. The manufacturer reached out to me and asked for my order number to support me (or so I thought). I quickly provided it and 3 weeks later, nothing back. I was hoping for the manufacturer to help a guy out and I would have added a star to my review for the quality customer service but instead it goes the other way around.

I will first state the shelves were perfect for both my needs and their strength and usefulness!However it goes far beyond these facts. When assembling my third shelf, I realized there were 2 critical parts missing, which literally left me unable to complete my installation and tv hook up. I immediately contacted the CHEETAH COMPANY, and within a mere few days, they remained in contact with me, and had delivered to me (cost free) all the necessary parts for project completion of my living room tv and stereo installation.No product or company fail safe, but the CHEETAH COMPANY has proven Customer Service IS THE KETSTONE PRACTICE, for customer satisfaction and future potential business and positive recommendations.These good folks will not leave you behind after the sale!*****!!!

Firstly, the assembly is very strange. You need to stack together a bunch of different parts to build the back column and the actual shelf together. Among those parts are some plastic parts that make the construction weak and which also can be squeezed out of shaped upon tightening the long bolts that go through the column. Also the supplied allen keys did not fit properly in the bolt heads, so I had to find my own set to get it done.I bought this for an A/V receiver unit that is exactly 22 lbs. This shelf does NOT support the weight. The shelf tilted so far downward under the weight that I was worried that it would either give in completely and snap or just slowly keep bending down until the receiver would fall off.There's a mounting plate that is screwed into the wall. The mounting plate sat completely flush with the wall and did not budge. All the flex was in the actual shelf/column construction.A note about the mounting plate, though: it comes prepared for 4 screws. There are 4 curved, elongated holes in the corners. Now on paper this is a great idea because if one or more wall anchors are slightly out of position, you can still adjust the mounting plate to sit level because of the shape of those holes. HOWEVER, if a screw is placed close to the outside edge of the mounting plate it will interfere with mounting the shelf to the mounting plate because of how the back of the column is shaped.Even though this shelf might work ok for carrying a wifi router or something similar, I would not recommend anyone to buy this because of the ridiculous design.Now I've got a bunch of holes to fill and paint before buying a better shelf. Thanks, Cheetah Mounts! I'll send over a wall mounted couch that I whipped up in the garage last night. I'd appreciate it if you'd mount it to your wall with the supplied 620 screws before realizing you can't actually sit on it. You can just return it to me afterwards. I figure that would make us even. If you pay for couch shipping that is. And a courtesy fee of $50 for my wasted labor.

I am pretty happy with the shelf for the most part. Quality is great, accessories a nice bonus, price very fair. Here is my only gripe:I am using the shelf to mount an A/V Receiver on the wall. While the dimensions led me to believe the shelf was deep enough, the angled corners at the front leave my receiver's feet teetering and barely touching. Now add in the banana plugs hitting the wire concealment in the back and I'm really teetering. It's the best I could find at any rate and will have to live with it, but would love to see a shelf actually designed for a receiver with multiple things plugged into the back. Every shelf I have found ends up not deep enough for this. Quality here is great and love the minimalist feel, just feel like I am the only person ever mounting an A/V Reciever on a floating shelf.

Easy to assemble and install. I had a couple of minor issues with the product that I sorted myself. Despite the small problems I'm very happy with the product. The piece that holds the 2 plates together isn't perfect but a cable tie or 2 really helps and aren't noticeable. For the price this is a great bit of kit. I stand by it being a 4 star product as the price really does push up the value of this product, I can't rate a product higher because the service was excellent my ratingust be based non the product. You do get a lot for the money. The company are a 5 star company however and their customer service is exemplary. Thank you. I would very happily order from them again without a second thought.

I wouldn't normally take time out of my day to review a shelf, but this was so good I decided I should.It was the shelf that kept on giving. It came with a long, durable HDMI cable. The cable itself is worth £10. It even came with a mini torch. It was simple enough to assemble. It's good quality. If you want a cheap shelf, get this one, it's a bargain.

Excellent product well thought out and easy to assemble. Great value for money considering the free Hdmi lead would cost a few quid and even the heavy duty dry wall fixings supplied cost a bit also. The shelf is very sturdy and the D line Trunking I already have fits very nicely in the back cover to conceal all the wires. Even supplies a cute keyring with light and a cloth to clean the TV screen. Flawless service Top notch product with great added free extras and all the fittings you will need. :>)
