How can I purchase a 9 to 10 inch downrod?

I am sure you can have the long rod it comes with cut to the size you need.

Could i replace the provided lights with 6 watt e12 bulbs? that would give me 3000 lumens instead of 400 for standard provided bulbs. max watts?

Hello, Thank you for inquiring. We recommend using the bulbs provided with this item. However, if alternate bulbs are used they will need to be the correct base type, and should not exceed the maximum wattage listed on the sockets. This will ensure the safety of the consumer and the item. If these criteria are met, the lumen output can be changed at the customer's discretion. Best regards,

Is there a way to turn on the lighting where the light so soft it can be on without being so bright?

Yes, put your fan on a wall switch with separate circuits for lights and fans, and use a dimmer switch for the lights. This is on top of the options you have to turn on the (dim) bottom or (dim) top or both.

What are the maximum wattage listed on each socket? Would be nice to reference socket position(high or low).

The maximum total overall wattage for the ceiling fan for all sockets combined is 190.
