Hard to find a supplement for meso-zeazanthin, which makes up about 16% of the eye macula. This, along with zeazanthin making up another ~16% of the macula, and lutein ~32% of the macula, have also been show they they cross the blood-brain barrier in assisting brain health by neutralizing dangerous free radicals, fighting inflammation, and reducing oxidative stress. All three of these carotenoids that protect the eyes also protect the brain and are proven to support cognitive function, memory, sight, and mood. Though meso-zeazanthin can be converted from leutein (how fast?), many people do not consume enough of it. It is very wise to use a supplement like this in this higher dosage because it it very hard to find a direct food source for it. I think it works with lutein and Zeaxanthin. Consumer lab recommends the mix of 10mg of meso zeanthan with lutein and zeaxanthin.

Unlike basic zeaxanthin which is deposited on the whole retina, meso-zeaxanthin is concentrated only on the macula itself where sharp and color vision occur. I'm using this product for AMD (aged macular degeneration) prevention but also for photophobia (sensitivity to glare) which is oxidative stress discomfort by a lack of protective pigment density on the macula. I will know results in 3-4 month. I cannot evaluate this product on a short term basic. The ratio is also important to respect between anti-oxydant pigments and 40mg lutein + 7mg zeaxanthin + 20mg meso-zeaxanthin is a good ratio for this trio. Item looks ok. Pills content is orange pigment which is ok for beta carotene supplements.

Just want the Meso Zeaxanthin for my eyes. Studies show that it really works and I think it has helped me. I think it is a little pricy. I am not fond of the rectangular container, but it works.

I'm a diabetic and have been diagnosed 16 years ago, by my local hospital, my previous doctors surgery mixed up my records with my husbands, it took 15 years for my old and new GP to realize the mistake that was made by my first GP, hence my eyes are worse, I've been looking around to try to find something that could at least help a bit, since taking these tables, my eyes do seem to have improved a bit, I take these every day, most days my eyes seem better then before, but other times, they seem worse, but that only happens once every 2 to 3 months.. This is my honest opinion, I'm not sure if it would work for everyone, but I did take the gamble.
