This is great! It's not the most sturdy. The pole itself is good the weak spot is the reel. The reel is made of cheap plastic & I fear it will break quickly. That being said that's the only real down side to this product. The lures are wonderful. All 6 of my cats love them & will play tel they drop. The dragonfly is their favorite. The lures are easy to change & are super durable & can take a beating. The pole itself is metal & flexible. I will definitely be buying again but if I can find a better reel I'll get that one.

The telescoping pole is great and the locking retractable line is also awesome. Would definitely gift and very happy I bought it. My cats each have their favorite attachment but the firefly broke its wings within the first day or two. Maybe that means they loved that one the most. But it worried me so I found the pieces and just tossed the wings but still have the creepy wingless body.I hide it whenever it’s not in use because they can be so rough with the feather toys but I do that with most the teaser wand toys I have.I love it and it seems very durable so far. They haven’t chewed through or broken the string yet like they do every other one so that’s a HUGE deal for us.Very happy

I have 3 cats that age in range from 1 year to 2.5 years. They all were fascinated with this product. The oldest and youngest would chase after it and jump in the air to get the feathers. their favorite by far are the feathers attachment. The other attachments would be better if they could be filled with their favorite catnip (Meowijuana, Seriously, try it). The line on the reel is a bit too short for any decent "casting" and the reel makes some of the loudest clicking when reeling in. However, the line can be replaced with something longer if/when necessary. My oldest cat likes to chew the string when he catches the prey. The string has enough length to it to allow me to whip the feathers across the kitchen floor and send the feathers scooting under the stove, fridge, island where the cats will eagerly wait to pounce on it when it comes back out. The bell attached to the toy isn't too noisy and tends to grab the cats attention.Now a word of caution. Notice I didn't mention much of my middle cat. Here's why: The toys attach to the line with an actual fishing snap swivel. These are metal clasps. These hold the toy to the line very well. Unfortunately, my middle cat likes to grab the toy with his mouth and then run off with it. Since I cannot keep up with a cat going full throttle, once the line goes taut the toy and metal snap swivel get pulled out of his mouth. This then freaks him out and he becomes wary of the toy. It could potentially cause chipped or broken teeth or a cut inside the mouth. I will most likely have to change out the metal snap swivel for some sort of plastic break-away clasp (and a longer line).

If you cat likes fishing poles hence chasing things this pole is for you!! It casts like a real fishing pole and you can lock the reel also my cat loves it!!

I purchased this product over a regular teaser wand because of wanted the feathered cat toy to go farther than what the teaser wand allows. The rod extends from 8 inches to 3 feet. The length of string on the reel is 6 feet. With the rod fully extended this allows only 3 feet of string to fling the feathered cat toy away from you. This is not enough string. There needs to be another 6 feet of string to make this a better product. The reel has a latch on it was unlocking/locking the reel. You unlock the reel for reeling out the string and then put it in the lock position to reel it back in. I would not recommend this product based on the lack of sufficient length of string.

It didn’t come with instructions. It was very hard to initially use it. The clasp on the end that holds the toy the cats play with is so hard to manipulate we had to use pliers to unclasp because it barely will move. The string was actually in two pieces and knotted together and after 10 minutes of play, the string came apart.The big problem is my cats absolutely love the toys at the end, especially the dragonfly, and we are going to have to replace the string and change out the swivel so it will last.

Where do I start?I've always wanted a fishing pole toy for my kitties! I thought it would be a cute concept, so I looked and looked but couldn't find anything. Ended up getting a kids fishing pole instead and used some feather toys on the end.While I loved it and it lived up to my expectations, easily becoming my cat's favorite toy- there were some draw backs.The fishing line would get tangled often, and was a hazard in general for my kitties as I noticed they liked to chew on it. It was a trip to the vet waiting to happen so I quickly shelfed it.Looking online again I came across this that fixed a lot of the initial issues I had with a regular kids fishing pole.Pros:-String is much safer and isn't easily tangled like fishing line-came with extra attachments that my cats loved!-The telescope feature makes it easy to put away, the kids rod I had couldn't do this-very durable!Cons-cant exactly cast with it, though I didn't used that feature much on my kids fishing pole to being with-The "switch" isn't as intuitive as it was on the regular kids rod, it's not the worst but I could see it being a cut risk if you're not carefulDespite the small flaws I feel like the safety benefits to my cats definitely out way any concerns! They love it, and it's easily their new favorite!

The media could not be loaded.  The ONLY thing is the metal pin that connects the string/wire to the actual wand popped out very easily. I just used crazy glue on it and it hasn’t been a problem since. The wand extends so much that I can sit and drink my tea while mindlessly swinging this around for Sully to play withIt comes with so many attachments. The variety is really good. So far I’ve just used the tiger coloured tail + bell. It’s pretty tattered but in tact still. Really can take a beating.I have to hide this toy because sully will climb anything to get it. When I get it to play with him - I have to pick it up very slowly because if the bell jingles on it he’ll come running in like a starved gremlin and will try to run up me to get it.10/10. I highly recommend getting this.EDIT NOVEMBER 2023Still my cats favourite toy. Attachments last so long. Super durable. Once i pick this up he comes running.
