First of all, LED are less expensive than the old incandescent bulbs. Secondly, this price on Amazon is better than I found anywhere else.Finally, these are goldilocks (not too bright - not too dim) unlike others I have tried.

We have older can lights. Most LEDs are too small or give off an artificial light. These match the old bulbs and have a natural light. Love them.

Just what I needed, very bright bulb, reasonable price

FEIT specs CLAIM their energy efficient LED BR40DM are 850 Lumens which would equal the intensity of 65W incandescent bulb; that claim is NOT accurate. These mislabeled bulbs are actually 85W equivalent 1100 Lumens bulbs, ( notice they use 13 Watts which is the power draw of true 85W equiv LED bulbs; true Par 65 Watt equivalent would draw 11 Watts ). But these mislabeled FEIT bulbs work fine w a dimmer, ( & you may like the extra brightness ).This mislabeling of PAR B/R40 65W LED equivalent is common among other brands.If you really need true 65W/ 11W actual/ 850 lumens bulbs, consider buying BR30 size which are true 65W/ 11W actual/ 850 lumens. Just realize that B/R30 are a little smaller in both diameter & length but will work fine in your B/R40 light fixture.

These are roughly 6 1/8 long by 4 3/4 at its widest. They are virtually the same length as original Phillips 65 DuraMax... but 1/8 skinnier.These are more bright than typical 65w / 625 lumens. These put out 850 lumens. This might be a problem for some since it will cast more shadows in the kitchen. If you use a dimmer (and dim them down a bit), they are not as bright and shadows are not as noticeable. Color temperature is the same.If these hold up over the years, would be a good value.

I am having a really hard time finding the 65W incandescent BR40 flood lights for my kitchen. These LEDs will work fine. As noted in other reviews, they are just slightly smaller than a traditional incandescent BR40 flood light, but they look ok. The brightness is only slightly brighter than the incandescents I replaced, and still easy on the eyes. Not glaring or weird, like many LEDs. The light is soft white, not daylight or harsh. I definitely notice a warm glow. I’m going to install a dimmer so I can use the dimming feature of these bulbs. All in all, I’m pleased. Bonus — the LEDs are always cool to the touch.

Shopped all the big box stores for bulbs but Amazon's price was a significant savings! Fit my can lights perfectly. I ordered soft white but they have other options.

Used these LED to replace R40 incandescent style lamp in recessed light. These last longer and do get as hot

Contrary to other reviews saying these are cooler than advertised, these ARE VERY WARM light, which is not what I wanted but are as described. These are also slightly shorter and less side than the Phillips BR40s which I purchased at the same time, so there is a slightly bigger gap around the bulb.

Bought a pack of 6. Tried the first 2, didn't work. Installed one more and it work. Did not bother to try the last 3. So 2/3 is defective and will return whole pack of 6.
