This product doesn't have quite the vintage feel you get from the photographs. The wood work on the box is mediocre at best. the hinging is not done well, so the lid will not open even to a full 90 degrees. The compass on the inside doesn't look vintage in person and has spots of oxidation on the outer edge. The finish on the box is scratched here and there and none of the hardware or plates are mounted straight on the box. There are even extra holes on one side of the box, as if they accidently mounted the plate on the wrong side and then changed it after. The interior of the box has a piece of cheaply printed, mismounted paper that comes off as tacky. In short, rather than looking like a rustic vintage compass, it looks like a cheap knockoff you would buy in the home decor section of Dollar General. The typical resale price of this item in most retail stores in the United States would be about half of the price listed. There was obviously no pride taken in the item, no quality control, and no thought put into the assembly process. I would not purchase this item again.

Love it overall. But sometimes the compass get confused and doesn’t show the right direction. But for collecting it perfect.
