JB is one of the best writers on Biblical knowledge ever.
This is a great book on the things we need to understand and remember. All that wonderfully insight that these old timers took away from a life of studying the gospel message and praying every day for the Holy Spirit to give a Revelation into the Bible and a better glimpse of understanding as to who out God and Father is and His desires for those who love and worship Him as Christ follows. He spoke and all things were created and if He didn't we wouldn't exist either. We have a great God and we should never forget it.

60 years old and still relevant
A thought provoking book about the ways in which our concepts of God are insufficient. Like most great books, the ideas here transcend the time and place that the book was written. Would highly recommend.

Great perspective
The author wrote an inspirational book empowering readers to change their perception of how to pray to God and what to pray for. Readers can shift their perspective and strengthen their trust and relation ship with God.

A well-written and persuasive spiritual guide
Purchased as a gift for my wife on the recommendation of an old friend who happens to be a minister. She jumped right in and seems to be quite taken with the book and the points it's making. A well-written and persuasive spiritual guide, my better half is very happy with it. So, I'm happy too. Four stars and recommended.

Very disappointed
I was really looking forward to this book. However, the printing is not crisp and clear. In fact, it is so fuzzy i am having great difficulty reading it. I'm not convinced it will be worth the struggle.

God is Truly Infinite
This book is a must read for all who seek a better relationship and understanding of God. Though it was written in 1952, it takes God beyond the confines of the Bible and the limits of modern Christian thought opening the door to a truly infinite God of limitless possibilities. "John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." But most of us Christians refer to the Word of God as the Bible...a great testament describing such a small and limited piece of God through the eyes of a small group of people. The Bible itself tells us the Word of God is Spirit, always with us, and through which all things are possible. God never changes, but people, their understanding and cultures do. God never leaves us but our understanding can separate us from God. God is Love (1 John 4:8), unlimited in power, and creator all things...even giving his creations the power to create (Genesis 1:27). There is no conflict between science and the existence of God. Scientific discovery is only a witness to God's omnipotence. Science reaffirms what the biblical parables of Jesus reveal...God is a God of processes and principles. Like the principles described in the parables of the Sower and the Mustard Seed; if there were a "Big Bang", it was a process of God that created it. The idea that God could have done things only the way the Bible describes limits God to a small being and insults the greatness of his abilities and creations. Science continuously reveals a world much bigger and more complex than the ancient prophets understood. This book awakens us to faith in a God the creator, bigger than any of scientific principle or discovery can reveal.

Wish I’d read this years ago…
This is the source material for some commonly repeated themes in the contemporary church… it’s valid. Helped me sort some of my thinking out and I would certainly recimmend!

Theology
The title on its own is worth the cost ! Phillips, in effect, is calling for mature faith, which does not limit the Almighty. One could say he is attacking the childish faith of so many - but not the childlike faith, which, paradoxically, helps us to see God in his truegreatness.
