The website says product made in China, the box says made in France and the brand originated in Germany. Are we still buying a Chinese product?

My box says made in France. From my understanding they are German engineered but made in France - I have read that some models of Rowenta are produced in China but anything I have ever purchase has always said France or Germany - I’ve had about 10 Rowenta irons through the years.

Do you have to use distilled water?

Hello! We recommend using untreated tap water with the Rowenta DG8624U1 Perfect Pro Station Garment Steamer. If you live in a location where the water is very hard, you may mix 50% untreated tap water with 50% distilled or demineralized water when using this iron.

Can the iron stand on its heel or must it rest on unit while ironing?

The iron can rest on its heel. However, Rowenta designed it to rest on the heating unit. I would not trust it to sit for long on the heel.
