Educational globe
Good educational globe. Very clear picture on globe and good light. My 5 years old love it!

Wonderful little globe.
Wish the price were a little lower. But totally love it. Much more interesting for kids ( and adults ) than the regular versions. You can always pull up the detailed maps online. We are using this to show our kiddo where the big things are on the "earth". Interesting pictures and colors. Pleasing to see. There are some defects like misalignment of the two spheres, but you can safely ignore it. you wont notice it unless you go looking for it. And when you switch on the light.. it is just wow ! Totally recommend it.

My four year old and two year old get happy every time we turn on the light for this ...
My four year old and two year old get happy every time we turn on the light for this globe. For this age group knowing the country names and which animals live there is perfect. The globe is not cluttered with city names, focusing on the countries instead, allowing children to learn the basics first. A great purchase!

Well worth the investment!
We thought the price was high for this, but when we read that it lights up to show even more than most globes, we thought it would be worth it. Our children, ages six and eight, have enjoyed discovering new things by using it. We home-school and thought this was a good investment for now and in the future. I think this would be good for anyone with children, as it can be an excellent hands-on learning tool. We have ours sitting in our living room so it's easy to access. Our kids will sit down and study it for fun! We use it as a night light to encourage an interest. Things that the description did not include and I wanted to know are: 1) When lit up in the daylight one can easily see the things that it shows (ring of fire, underwater creatures, etc.) 2) The light bulb is easy to remove and is just a 'night-light' type of bulb, which can be bought anywhere and is inexpensive. We've only had it for a few months and we've referred to it many times both with home-schooling and in general discussion. It's fun, beautiful, and easy to read and use. You will not be sorry! We sure aren't!! :)

Flimsy. Not well built
The illumination part is pretty cool. The pictures are fun as well. I just wish it was a bit more sturdy. The base and top part that holds it together came apart as soon as we took it out of the box. Not a horrible purchase but its definitely not worth $50

Expensive nightlight!
The globe is nice but the base is disappointing. It is plastic and does not provide the needed stability.

So cool!
I ordered this for my 3 year old nephew. He couldn't get enough. The light up effect really adds an extra quality of intrigue for wanting to play with it and learn. I looked A LOT of globes online and this one ended up being a great size and great for kids that are just learning. I was worried that it would be too simplistic, but it has all the countries and major cities. The little whales and such are a very cute addition, but nothing seems to be removed to make room for them, which I was glad about. I kind of want one for myself. The only thing I would suggest for future productions is to have the globe clasp into the frame more securely. It is fine the way it is. Globes are meant to be stationary and just spin so it's not a big concern, but it would add an extra bit of security. 3 year olds can be rough with things sometimes.

DEFECTIVE DESIGN-DON'T BUY IT
Don't buy it, defective design. I gave one to my son & his family. It broke when they tried to assemble it. I ordered a replacement which broke when I tried to assemble it. Assembly is only one thing, to snap the bottom of the globe stand into the base. Knowing where it failed when they tried to assemble it I was as gentle as possible, but it still snapped. The plastic material lacks the flexibility to snap into the base. Also, it is very cheaply made, and doesn't warrant the price, which was $65 when I bought it two weeks ago, but has now been dropped to $59.

Light stopped working after one night. Connection is loose and won’t stay on. Really disappointed as we had purchased this hoping for a nightlight as well as geography lessons
