What trailer connection type is the Heavy Ranger® MUTT® for?

The Heavy Ranger® MUTT® works with 7-way round pin SAE J560 connections commonly found on semi-trailers, dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, lowboys, dump trailers and equipment haulers. It does not work on RV-Style trailers.

Does the Heavy Ranger® MUTT® come with a battery?

No. The Heavy Ranger® MUTT® does not come with a battery. Each product configuration requires supplying your own battery for use.

A Mobile Universal Trailer Tester® powers and checks trailer lights, brakes and electrical circuits without connecting a truck, helping you quickly find wiring faults, shorts, poor grounds and failed components before hitting the road.

How do I check my plug connection type?

Identify the connection by the shape and arrangement of the pins inside the plug, not by the outer housing. Our product image gallery shows 7-way round vs flat/blade. For a 7-way flat blade connection, choose the Light Ranger® MUTT®.
