I have spent hours look at and reading reviews on first aid kits. I wanted something to keep in my car for those just in case situations but I also wanted something that was big enough, but not too big, that I could add items to. Enter this first aid kit. The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was that the bag itself was a nice size. It's not outrageously big but it's also not so small that you'd have a hard time locating it in the car or in your house. As I picked up the bag, I was impressed with the water repellent material it's made of. It doesn't look like it's going to fall apart within a week or even a year or more. I unzipped the bag with ease and found the zipper to be sturdy. You shouldn't have to wrestle with your first aid bag when you need to access it in a hurry and with this one, you won't have to. It opens very smoothly. The 3 compartments that make up the bag are of decent size and allow space if you'd like to add additional items to your bag. I plan on adding a tourniquet, some antibiotic ointment, a tape scissors (comes with a straight scissors), additional Kling rolls, additional 4x4 and 5x7 gauze bandages, and a small battery operated flashlight. Yes, I probably could've bought a kit that already has all of these items in there. My point is, however, that there is going to be plenty of room in this bag for those additional items. You could also keep medications in this bag if you wanted to. I'm very pleased with the purchase of this bag. It's made of nice material, opens smoothly, and has room to add additional items to customize for your use. Definitely worth purchasing!

This is amazing for the price. To be honest I was just looking for a new First Aid bag as my other one finally bit the dust and the zipper failed and this fit the bill, the fact it actually came with items was a bonus for me. There’s enough room that I was able to take items from my old first aid kit and put them in this one with room to spare. I did take out the cotttonballs though, I don’t see a need for them as I have more than enough sterile gauze pads. The bag itself is made out of decent material and doesn’t carry a strong smell. Everything included in the kit seems to be of good quality, I only wish it came with iodine and sting relief capsules (I ordered both of those for less than $10 off here to add to it). I also reorganized it to manner that I find useful, every one has different needs, I have a three year old so band aids needed to be most easy to find for me. I drive a ‘91 4Runner, it has these lovely little compartments in the rear on either side. My goal was to find a bag that fit in one of those compartments and this bag fits like it was made for it! There’s a little room left under the first aid bag for my ratchet straps and tow rope. I would highly recommend this bag for cars especially if you’re a hiker like I am.

Overall, I'd call it a good value but I'm dropping a star because when we did need to use it, finding a band-aid was a bit time-consuming. There's a lot stuffed into the package but it's mostly uniformly white and a lot of the items are similarly shaped and they're a bit jumbled up, thus the -1 star for minimal organization. There's a decent selection of typical first aid needs including a few items that you'd not expect but when you need them, you need them. If you buy the kit, do yourself a favor and, on receipt, open it, sort the items and repackage them in snack-size baggies or some other method of keeping them separated. You'll be glad you did.

I'm a former boy scout who learned the "Be Prepared" lesson. If half of life is showing up, the other half is showing up prepared. I have kept a first aid kit in my car, at my office and in my home for eons. It's just what you do if you're a responsible adult. But when my grandkids were coming for a week long stay in July, I thought I'd better check the contents of the nice metallic box I keep at home with all my first aid supplies. Ooooops... some of these things are not exactly fresh. The box itself was showing severe signs of age, so I thought it was time for a new first aid kit. I went shopping on Amazon after reading some reviews on The Wirecutter and found this great first aid kit. Sure, it has the normal staples of bandages and cleaning pads, but it also has burn gel packs, a notebook and a pencil (think about it - this is useful stuff!) and, thoughtfully, an inventory card that shows what the original contents were and how many of each item were supplied. So, if after a few years, your kit is light on items, you'll know exactly how to restock it. The kit is closed with a zipper that opens from either end and has a fold out pocket. The supplies are logically ordered and easily spotted when the kit is first opened. It is sturdily built and colorful enough to attract attention. I think the people that put this first aid kit together know what they're doing - this kit should last for years. Just having this well-stocked first aid kit aids my mental health.

Really great kit. And exactly what I was looking for to keep in my truck or bugout bag. The bag itself is good quality and seems like it will hold up well and the zippers seem pretty heavy duty too. It has all the basics that you need and I really really like that it has extra space to add your own stuff. I ended up taking out the cotton balls because they took up a lot of room and I didn’t really see a need for them. And was able to add a few maxi pads (great for packing large wounds) a bottle of wound wash, burn ointment, eye wash, iodine sticks, antibiotic ointment and a few other things. I also ended up replacing the scissors with an actual pair of medical shears. All stuff I already had around. Over all very happy with it. And it has almost everything you need even if you don’t want to add stuff to it.
