may I use this on my window to isolate noise outside?

I do not think it would be a good idea to use this material on a window.  It has a black sticky side which would be hard to remove and the other side is aluminum foil.  Once applied it would be hard to remove.  It does reduce the noise and vibrations, but would not look very good.

Is this stuff really 3" thick?

The roll is 3" thick, as in it is multiple layers of thin sheets. It is clear from the photo that a single layer isn't that thick. If anything it is just confusion by whomever wrote the description. I used a single roll of this to coat the entire interior of my Miata. Everywhere from the doors, under all the carpets, under the dashboard and so on. Significant improvement in sound, and it is much easier to regulate the temperature in the car. If it is a hot day, simply getting rid of the warm air by opening a window for a minute is enough to bring the internal temperature down to comfortable levels. The thickness is perfect as it fits discretely anywhere I put it, and noone can tell that I put it everywhere. Nothing has come off at all for me after a year, but it is sandwiched between 2 layers, so I can't confirm for other applications.

Question 3

Will installing this in the trunk and under the rear seats help with exhaust drone and road noise?

I installed underneath the seats and behind the rear seat, sealing off the trunk.  It reduced road noise drastically.  This is a great sound barrier and deadener.

Question 4

How long does it take for the odor to dissipate, and how is adhesion on vertical surfaces/roofs. I'm in TX and want to apply above headliner

odor is very slight and gone very quickly. adhesion is very good. once you install it will stay put even on roof surface. you will be amazed at how well it deadens noises. very good product
