I was a little hesitant and skeptical about how well this would work, so I did an experiment. I installed the front door speakers I bought elsewhere (Kicker 46CSC674's) before I installed the Dynamat. I took a quick drive after that and while they sounded better treble-wise compared to the factory speakers, there was not a lot of bass like I was expecting. At that point, I took the plunge and installed the Dynamat, put everything back together and took another drive. Wow! The bass was back and better than without this installed! A couple of weeks later, I did the rear door speakers (another set of Kicker 46CSC674's) and now I can actually hear the back speakers. The factory speakers were probably blown (at least one in the front and one or both in the back). Same results there! Fantastic bass response with this installed. I can't speak for other brands of sound deadening material, but after installing this kit in the front and back (required 2 kits of course!), I am sold. I did not buy the roller they advertise and instead used the back end of a screwdriver like several other reviewers mentioned. That worked out quite well and was able to smooth things out pretty easily. If you are replacing speakers, by all means pick this up, as it will help with your bass response.

If you're looking to minimize or totally eliminate the risk of vibrations in your vehicle, or just want your speakers to sound great, Dynamat will do the trick. I lined the inner sound bar and dash area of my Jeep Wrangler with this stuff. Zero vibrations or rattles, and my speakers sound great. To top it off, Amazon is selling Dynamat for much less than the "big box" retailers. Do yourself a favor and get some Dynamat!

I applied Dynamat Xtreme to the underside of my Synology NAS's metal cover, which had developed a distracting buzzing noise when its 8 drives would perform certain activities. This Dynamat was thinner than I expected, but it added enough mass that the buzzing has completely disappeared. I'm told that some butyl products can have a noticeable odor to them. The Dynamat has no odor. After cleaning the underside of the metal cover with 99% isopropyl alcohol, I cut a rectangle sized to cover the center 60% of its surface. To cut the material, I used a box cutter with a new blade and a cutting mat. This worked fine, but I eventually determined that cutting with a large scissors was easier. Removing the backing paper was easy, and handling and positioning the Dynamat was also easy. I used a roller to ensure it was securely and evenly applied. My second use case for this Dynamat was as a protective layer between my office wall and an HDPE mounting block I was attaching to it. I wanted something that would both protect the surface of the wall and also prevent any buzzes or rattles from the device I was mounting on the block. The Dynamat worked well for this application too. I was surprised with how well it adhered to the HDPE given how few materials stick to it. So far so good. So why only four stars? There are two things I would point to. First, Dynamat is butyl with a layer of foil on top. The foil is black, and whatever material is used to make it black comes off pretty easily. Isopropyl alcohol will take it off with no effort. And I noticed that it came off on my office wall too. In fact, I ended up covering the Dynamat on the back of the HDPE mounting block with aluminum tape to protect the wall from the black-colored foil and from the butyl that squeezed out around the edges of the Dynamat. The second negative is the price. Dynamat Xtreme is a good product and I'm pleased with the end result but I'm not sure that what the company is charging for two 10-inch squares of the material represents a great value. There are foil-covered butyl alternatives that are available for significantly less. Whether the less expensive alternatives are noticeably different, I can't say. I decided to go with the "sure thing". But if I needed to buy this in larger quantities, I would have investigated less expensive alternatives. The bottom line is that I would absolutely recommend Dynamat Xtreme. It was easy to cut and install, and it has proven effective for both of my use cases. Four stars.

Dynamat worked for me. My rear speakers rattled the trunk of my Millenia when I installed my pioneer 6 X 9's. this weekend I removed them and put some of this around the speaker opening and the rattling is gone. also the distortion at higher volumes is gone and the bass sounds better. I also purchased some pioneer 6X8's her on amazon for my front doors and added the dynamat to them also. They too sound great with good sound and bass. I will say that installing this stuff in the rear was a bit more work than I envisioned but it was well worth it. I did not by a roller, I just smoothed it down with my hand and the back of a srewdriver. What I did buy to cut it was Black & Decker SZ360 3.6-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Power Scissors from Marshalls. They were $12 and worked perfectly. I wore gloves when I tried to lay the dynamite down but the backing kept getting stuck to my gloves so I just installed it without gloves. That worked better for me and did not get my hands all sticky like some other people here. I would recommend. Great price too. $25 for 4 sheets here and $25 for 2 sheets at circuit city.

This is not my 1st time buying dynamat products. Every car I buy, I usually end up putting some product in the car. This speaker kit is perfect for giving your speakers a boost in sound quality and loudness as well as deafening outside road noises! Installation is a breeze, especially if you have a 2” wood handled roller. I would definitely recommend this kit bc it’s just enough to make your speakers sound better.

I was told by a friend to try this on the backside of my electronic dartboard to cut down on the noise it makes when the dart hits the board. I was amazed by how much quieter it is now. I just out it on the backside and cut around the edges and it works great.

I am a person who really needs quit time and alone time due to a very hectic life, who doesn't? However, for some reason I wasn't fully enjoying my time in my suv, too much outside noise prevented me from enjoying my music or enjoying the times where I just want/need quit. So I decided to try this product out. I own a BMW X5 E53 which had some nasty vibration as well on the doors which I guess was due to age. This product gave me what I needed so bad, it was like night and day, it drastically lowered outside noise, and gave the stereo more base and better sound. Anyone who owns an X5 knows that removing door panels is a pain, so I recommend to dynomat the entire door, as I started out only doing the speaker area with it and then ended up doing the entire door, trust me, it's worth it. Important..... This is not like the older dynomat, where you had to heat it up first before install, this one you only need a roller, I highly recommend that you get the dynomat roller as it will make the install so much easier and better plus the roller can be used for other things as well. As time consuming it is, it is worth it if you do more driving than anything else. Enjoy the silence

You need much more material to cover your doors. Material itself is of great quality. Also includes a nice sticker.

This is essential when swapping speakers over, especially if you are fitting some expensive speakers (or just want to hear your music clearly!). Not just for audio junkies, this cuts down on panel vibration and movement, and really does improve the sound from even a cheap pair of speakers (some £35 Pioneer's in my case). Use the off cuts along the inside of the door if you can to further reduce panel flex and noise ingress. Essential for older cars or vans with little or no original sound deadening in the doors. A few quid here saves spending a fortune on expensive speakers where you will lose the sound.
