My rough collie mix HATES being brushed - the slicker brushes hurt his skin, and everything else tugs at his hair more than he's a fan of. This spray makes the brush go through the fur like a charm with no tugging, and makes removing debris from our forest walks a breeze. It leaves a bit of a waxy feeling to the fur after the fact, but it dissipates over a few days and, at least for my dog, keeps his fur tangle free for those days too. Bonus points because it brings out the curl pattern in his coat. The smell is also amazing - I almost wish i could get this scent in a human detangler!

I groom my two pups plus all of my friends pups. They are poodles and doodles. I come across a lot of Mattes and this is very effective in combing out Mattes, plus it has a wonderful honeysuckle scent

I googled the fragrance and tried to sift through reviews in case this scent might be overpowering but I did not expect it to be this strong. I hoped dog of the woods would have a gentle milky smell to it, maybe like a gentle vanilla bean hint or something more natural especially based on packaging and description, but instead it stank like over powered old person hair product perfume. My dog also feels incredibly soft after wash so his fur actually felt less soft and almost looked greasy with just two spritz. That said, I was able to brush a few knots out and my dog didn’t move like he usually does. With how much my pup has enjoyed swimming, I’ve been looking for a good detangler, and I normally like products from this company.. we just used their shampoo and it smells like a hint of peppermint and not at all offensive (my dogs fur is so soft)! Not sure why there’s such a huge difference in scent quality from their shampoo to this. Dog of the woods is a scent I’ll be avoiding from now on. I’ve ordered the honeysuckle option in hopes it might less offensive in odor. I already read the lavender doesn’t smell like lavender so if honeysuckle stinks, I won’t be trying anything else from this specific product line unless they can release something with a gentler, more natural or unscented fragrance. I’m sensitive to unnatural fragrances and especially to anything labeled “sensual” or musks. This is musky and not at all like I’d expect from what I thought was a natural pet brand. It doesn’t smell natural by any means. Shipping is incredibly fast. Everything else went great. The bottle itself is very small, much smaller than I expected. My dog reeks now. I’d rather him smell like swamp water than this. Update: I purchased honeysuckle and it smells much better. Has a sweet lotion/conditioner smell. I still feel the bottle is small, and I can still smell dog of the woods which is the reason I’m keeping a star off. Can’t stand the way dog of the woods smells. I think I’d also prefer a much more natural fragrance overall but this one is much more bearable.

Works well on tangles and smells good . You don’t need a lot and it lasted for a long time .

This works great. I was skeptical when I bought it but after I used it once. I’m sold!! Great product and it smells great too. Will definitely buy again.

I can't speak for the product yet because the spray nozzle doesn't work. It works with water but not with the detangler. After I give my dog a bath, I'll try pouring some in my hand and rubbing in his coat but I'm super disappointed I couldn't use the spray nozzle it came with.

Thick spraying on but nice smell and makes the hair looks nice and glossy, not greasy.

The cats obviously didn't like the smell; it smells pretty good, but it's too strong for the cats' sensitive noses.

I've used this as a detangler on long Pomeranian fur with matts. It gets the matts out and would work fantastic if it wasn't for the strong scent. My puppy loses his mind and gags and can't stay still during grooming. He's very dramatic and rolls on blankets or fabric desperate to get the smell off. If there was an unscented option that would be ideal!
