Kids love this one, but harder to build.
Thought this would be the death of me. This was one of the hardest built models so far (try bending metal into a ball), yeah took me almost 8 hours to build this using a magnifying glass, a dozen different pliers and a hurt back. However it looks great, and the boys absolutely LOVE this one the best. These are a lot of fun for downtime, or when you can do other things. Again you need a good set of pliers and snips to remove these, some of the pieces are VERY small (and I lost a few) however there is so much detail to this thing, you'd never know they weren't there.

Good Model, Great Detail, Potentially Tricky
The kit produces a surprisingly detailed model, although some of the rounded shapes are a bit polygonal, as is to be expected. As with all Metal Earth projects, it can be tricky at times, so I would not recommend it for most kids under 13, at least without help from an adult.

Another Great Star Wars Model
My husband collects and builds these Metal Earth Star Wars models. This was his 5th one. He's currently building it now. If you have eyesight issues, I suggest using a magnifyer glass as the pieces are very tiny and small. Its not the type of model that you complete in 1-2 hours. It will take several hours if not days to complete.

Smaller than expected
Smaller than I expected it to be packaging wise. It's about as thin as a credit card. It was not quite what I expected quality wise because the metal was so thin but I did like the fact that i didn't need additional tools. I most likely won't be purchasing one of these again because of the size. I woudl purchase it again if it was bigger.

The best looking metal earth model yet, and not too difficult.
I've done 4 SW metal earth models, and I didn't find this one to be very difficult. If you can manage the other star wars sets, then chances are you can manage this one. For me, the most difficult models are those with pieces so small that they can't bend properly. This model did not have that problem. All of the pieces fit well, but I did have to use glue to get it tight and secure. In terms of looks, it is the best looking model by far. The proportions of this tie have been improved from the original version, which had farther apart wings and a smaller cockpit. While the special forces tie is far from my favorite star wars ship, this is my favorite metal earth model because it has the most detail and texture variation out of the ones I've done.

Impossible to assemble without damage
This is the hardest metal earth model I have attempted. Most of the pieces are so small it becomes impossible to bend them properly even with good tools. This model requires several spherical bends that are extremely difficult to bend without damaging the main structure. If you follow the instructions you will get to the point where you need to bend tabs in the center of the main sphere. Since the tabs are in the sphere you can't reach them. I would recommend any other Star Wars model except this one.

Tons of Fun- Fantastic Final Product
If you're a fan of building models using tweezers like I am, you'll love these. The round sections of the Tie Fighter are challenging in a very positive way (I used an old mouse tracker ball as a guide.) This was a lot of fun and a definite talking piece when people see that it was hand-made. Takes about 9 hours total if you don't rush. Not for kids whatsoever- requires steady hands and sharp tools to cut the model pieces out.

Petite taille.

Not as easy as some to assemble, takes time but excellent model.
