Well, the promised chicken dance enticed me to go ahead and put editing my novel aside to write a review. This is a lovely smaller wooden brush, easier on my hand than the big long clunkers designed for my tall spouse. I use it for dry brushing over clothes before I do my lymphedema massage. The bristles are just the right density--not too stiff, not too soft. I can feel my lymph fluid coursing after a few passes with this. Just feels good and healthy. The handle is also the right length for me to brush behind my head, over my neck and shoulders. Believe me, even if one didn't have lymphedema, this would be a swell way to start the day all tingly. The carved handle of good quality wood gives an aesthetic to the brush which I appreciate, as I keep it out in my office so I won't forget to use it. The price on Amazon made this a good value, too. I haven't used this in water and maybe will not. I usually wash my back brushes in a washing machine so as to not break out. I'm thinking, though, perhaps I could dip this brush in a solution of diluted tea tree oil after thoroughly rinsing it out. So maybe I will buy another for my shower--the length would be right for me, I'm 5'7".

I held off on my review because I wanted to make sure it would do what so many others had stated and was not disappointed. This brush is absolutely wonderful. It removes all the dead skin and although I use it dry because it was a little on the pricey side and would like it to last as long as possible, imagine it works just as good in the shower. I take a few extra minutes before jumping in the shower brushing my skin, then, once out, put my body oil on, and the result is nothing short of awesome. What a difference!! My skin is so soft, and smooth. I even had a few bumps on the backs of my arms which are now gone!! I would recommend this brush to anyone who wants softer, and smoother skin, no matter what the age!!

Overall this brush works well! Unfortunately the wood that this brush is made from developed a split in it after about 3 days of being in our bathroom. I'm not sure if it is from it being too dry in our home or some other reason. The brush is still very usable but it seems that this should not have happened after such a short period of time!

Yes, they are, and more...Somewhere in our human journey simple things like this [dry brushing, herbs, growing your own food] have come to be considered the practices of nuts and fruitcakes. As our elders and indigenous people have died or been silenced, laws got put into place and techniques used to program us to believe that what worked for millennium is now just folklore and wives tales and that doctors and pharmaceutical companies are now the wise and caring ones. They're not. So, taking responsibility for our own lives, as crazy as it sounds today, is absolutely the right way to go! I'm 60, trust me on this one. And this brush, really is the BEST, most well made brush on the market, totally worth the extra pennies! You will discover it is better for you than, coffee, drugs, stimulants, lotions, or the next text message on your cell phone. As good for your soul as it is for your body with only positive side effects! My skin transformed into the softest silkiest smoothest skin I've ever had in one week, no lie! "Brush toward your heart" and you've got it. That's all there is to it. Need more there are plenty of videos on YouTube to get you started. Your lymph glands and heart will thank you for trusting in the old ways, and the Earth will thank you for being mindful of her water resources.

I was looking for a brush that would last. Haven't had this long enough to say how it holds up. I'm not happy with the feel of the handle. I think I liked the curved handles better, and this one is a little shorter than what I've had before. The quality of the brush is good, but the bristles aren't long enough and are somewhat soft. I think I would like a little stiffer brush, but that's my taste and not a problem with the brush itself. Comes very nicely packaged and would make a nice addition to a bath basket for gifting.

As a man, I tend to be health and beauty avoidant. But I figured I should be a little more mature, wise up, and make myself all beautiful and soft skinned for the ladies in my life. Yes, even my Mom and my Grandma deserve to have a son with beautiful glowing skin. Really though, I just figured if I put in extra effort on scrubbing my back, I'd be able to reduce some of the back and shoulder acne that I get. Probably from workouts. Whether there's something magical about boar hairs, or just Purelation, this bath brush has been awesome. It feels great when scrubbing and I'm refreshed and invigorated coming out of the shower. My skin is exfoliated and clean and it has noticeably improved! Really happy with this purchase. And even though I am cleaner and better looking (and softer skinned), I can still beat my chest and feel like a man. I'll admit that I don't have the courage to exfoliate in the gym showers, but this brush will always have a place in my shower at home. At least until my soon to be girlfriend steals it from me. She's not my girlfriend yet, but once she feels my skin I'm pretty sure the deal will be sealed.

Thought by the price this would be a good backbrush but it's bristles are way too soft I should of returned it. It fell apart in 3 months

After almost two months of regular use as a sauna brush, I have zero complaints. The brush is well constructed using a single piece of wood. I leave the brush in the sauna, so it is exposed to extreme temperature variation, from above 200 degrees F when in use to well below freezing as the sauna is not connected to the house or any other heat source other than a wood stove that is lit when in use. It is -5 deg F presently. I give this info because the brush is holding up perfectly. The finish on the wood shows no sign of wear, and the bristles have remained intact. While not extremely stiff, I find the bristles level of coarseness just right for full body exfoliation, either wet or dry. Some may prefer something a little more rough for your feet but this works for me. Well there's enough personal information about how I sauna. Bottom line, I would recommend this product.
