We purchased this for our very deep sleeper. He was 4 years old and was done wetting the bed in 6 weeks total, but I'd say he was getting the hang of it after only 2 weeks. Here are the steps we took for successful training 1. We purchased the orange arm band to hold the device instead of clipped to pajamas. Our son didn't like it on his arm, so we out it on his ankle, which was much more comfortable. 2. We put a piece of velcro to the back of the sensor and instead of taping it to his underwear, we put a pull up on him over his underwear, and the velcro stuck to the inside of the diaper perfectly. This also made cleanup after an accident super simple, because we didn't have to change bedding, just his underwear and a new diaper. 3. My son was a very very deep sleeper, so he slept right through the alarm,both the vibrating & the audible alarm. But it was still incredibly valuable, because it allowed me to KNOW when he was peeing and keep track of when, so I could quickly see a pattern. 4. I would set an alarm to wake myself up and have him go potty about 30 min before the pattern of when the alarm was going off. After reading the book "oh crap, potty training" I used her advice to not wake the child, and basically pick up your floppy, sleeping kid, and plop them on the potty chair and have him go potty while sleeping. I remember thinking to myself "how is this teaching him to go potty when he's sleeping through it?" but what it was doing was training his body to let the potty out in the potty chair and overtime it trained his body to wake him up. 5. The first few nights the alarm went off about 5-6 times but after about 2 days I noticed more of a pattern and could get him on the potty before it alarmed,.so it was down to 2-3 times a night rather quickly. Then for a week I was having him go potty before I went to bed and then one more time at about 2am. 6. Pretty quickly he was starting to actually wake up either to me getting him to go, or to the alarm and going on his own. 7. We kept the alarm on him for several weeks after he was getting it for just in case, and finally we just stopped because he was getting up and going all on his own.

Design engineer here. This is one of the poorest products I have ever used given the comparative price point. Here are my observations: 1- Embossment features on the clip that secure the clip to the alarm unit are too small given the thinness and flexibility of the clip arms that attach to the alarm. They do not have enough positive engagement and holding strength. This means the alarm detaches from the clip too easily. The alarm falls out of the clip with only slight force. 2- The general robustness, fit and finish of the unit are more in line with an under $20 device. The snap-together design has too much tolerance, so the different plastic parts that assemble together to make the body rattle, squeak and chatter together. 3-Attaching the sensor to children's briefs does not work well. The size of the sensor is too large to accommodate the curvature of that area. 4- Stress on the sensor after attachment causes it to easily come loose. A secondary clip near the sensor could provide additional mechanical holding. 5- Sensor wire is far too stiff given the application. 6- Alarm kept going off with no urine, possibly due to perspiration on child’s briefs (does not make sense to me why the unit would have this level of detection). Had to relocate the sensor up to the waistband before the sensor would stop getting false positives. 7- The actual clip portion of the clip is too stiff. This feature either needs to be thinner, have flextural geometry added, or a joint as a separate feature with a spring. Design 101, people want easy to use, effective and inexpensive. I paid more thinking this would be added quality. I know this device is not going into space and quality is relative to the consumer. But like I said, I would put this in the sub $20 range. I hope they create a more robust design. Kids need solutions that work.

(6yr old boy; no dry nights ever) This is the first alarm we tried. We did not want to use medicine for the bedwetting so our doctor suggested using an alarm. After looking at different reviews the Chummie brand looked like the best. We went with this alarm (Elite) because my son (6yr) does not have trouble waking up with his morning alarm (has not gotten use to the sound/pattern) so we figured he wouldn't have trouble waking up to this one as well. He has been using it for a month now and I am amazed at what a difference it has made! First off the alarm is small with a good tight fitting clasp you can attach to the back to clip onto a shirt but my little guy moves around SO much that it was coming off every night and would unplug. Once it took forever to find because it was stuffed in his pillow case!! Crazy kid! haha! We ordered the armband and that fixed the problem (we did have to use velcro to attach it to the armband because it would still fall out sometimes). The alarm is loud and I can hear it a few rooms away (I'm a light sleeper). I though it would wake the 3yr old (next room over) but as of yet we have had no problems. I was having to get him up every time at first but now most of the time he is at least awake if not up by the time I get in there. The sensor is super sensitive! Really, one drop sets it off. I did go out a get more underwear for him because we have to use two pair each time. The first pair has the sensor attached to the outside of it and the second pair goes over that to keep the sensor in place. (Did I mention my guy moves around like there is a freaking earthquake or something!). The first few weeks we were changing his underwear up to three times (6 pairs of undies!!), just be prepared! We bought a second sensor but not sure if it was necessary really. It was nice to have it for a quick change but you can dry it off really good and use it again. Three weeks in and we were not even using the second one. It took a few days to get the hang of everything but we had our first dry night on the 7th night! My guy has not had a dry night EVER so everyone was super happy!! The next two weeks we only had a few more dry nights (we bought washable bedwetting pads to go over top of the sheets so we were able to get back to sleep quicker) but by the 4th week he was staying dry all but one night! He has even had a few nights now were he as woken up before the alarm! We are going to wait the full 14 days of dry nights before trying without the alarm but I'm betting by another month he will be off of it! So wish we would have tried this product sooner!!

I read several reviews for several products, I went with this one for my daughter. She is one of the rare few that has had nocturnal enuresis past the age of 8. Seeing that she was turning 11 and still was having problems, meaning she almost never had a dry night, I bit the bullet and bought this alarm. First few weeks went great, she would wake up when it went off and had less accidents. She is a very heavy sleeper and after a few weeks got used to the sound and vibration. I had read that some parents would sleep next to the child at night, but didn't think I needed to since she was older, well I was wrong, turns out she was waking up and turning it off thinking that it was malfunctioning and going back to sleep. Once we figured that out she has had almost no accidents in the past month, and for me it is a huge relief. This has helped her in many ways, especially building her confidence. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the tape that keeps the sensor in place does not always work, we ended up using duct tape and wearing two pairs of underwear.

I had high hopes for this thing based on the insanely high price, but so far I'm very unimpressed. 2 reasons as of now that I would not recommend this product: 1) it goes off without actual bed wetting (not sure if it's sweaty sleeping, or what?). We don't need an alarm for just plain sleeping, thanks - the idea is to address nocturia. 2) my kid does NOT wake up even with both vibrator and alarm. While this is great when the alarm goes off for no clear reason, it's clearly not going to be helpful in solving bed wetting. The alarms's just not loud enough for a sound sleeping kid- or at least not my kid... And the buzz doesn't seem to be enough either. Maybe there's not a product short of a cattle prod that would help us, but this doesn't have what we need to help our kiddo learn how to hear her body's cues during the night. I'm pretty disappointed that I paid so much for something that's turned out to be completely useless to us. Pros: the instructions are very straightforward- using it is a snap. The sensor is comfortable. It just doesn't wake my kid up- like even a little bit. If you're kid's a sound sleeper- if they literally need to be carried to the bathroom in the night because they are essentially comatose- I doubt this is the product for you. I'm not sure I know any kids this would work for, but hey clearly my kids are very sound sleepers.

Good value for the money, but does alarm usually once per night when there has been no accident, sometimes before our kiddos even asleep. Needs a little work to be 5 stars.

I don't normally write reviews, but I absolutely have to on this product. My oldest daughter, who turned 7 at the end of September had NEVER had a dry night in her short little life. We'd tried just about every other "technique" out there to try to get her to get up and go to the bathroom at night- especially after her younger sister day and night trained in a two week period at the age of 3. Nothing worked. We were spending an amazing amount of money on pullups. She was unhappy, we were unhappy. We had her checked, nothing was wrong medically. It began to cause issues with her self-esteem, she didn't want to do sleepovers with friends, and felt horribly embarrassed. So after talking to a couple of other parents who had used bedwetting alarms successfully, and a ton of internet research, we involved her in the process of choosing an alarm. She chose this one. Now, for those of you who expect "miraculous results" in two weeks or so, prepare to be disappointed. For those of you who can't handle losing sleep, be prepared to be disappointed. This is NOT a quick fix. It took us a total of 4 months. The first couple of weeks, it felt like we had a newborn again, and we were running on as much caffeine as we could consume. We had to get up with her each and every time it went of, which was 5-6 times a night at first. It gradually went to 2-3 times a night, then down to 1 time per night. We washed a lot of damp panties. We bought a lot of cloth tape. However, about mid-August, she started finally getting herself up when it went off, and then came to us to help put the sensor on some dry panties for the rest of the night. We then switched it from both the beep and vibrate functions to just vibrate. After about two weeks of this, she started to stay dry. By early September, we stopped using it. She now stays dry every night and gets up to go if she has too. This was a child who slept so deeply that you could set off a nuclear bomb next to her bed without waking her. We used two pairs of panties- one with the sensor taped to them, another over that to help hold it in place. When we first started, we put a pullup over the panties with the sensor attached. Again, because this bears repeating. THIS IS NOT A QUICK FIX, BUT IT WORKS IF YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE. Best $80 I ever spent.

We bought this alarm for my youngest son to replace an old Malem alarm we used for my oldest son that is no longer working. (The old Malem alarm worked great for my oldest son, and we loaned it out to 3 friends who also successfully used it. I guess the sensor started getting corroded after being used by 4 kids, which is why we need to replace it). We decided to give the Chummie alarm a try because it was less expensive than the Malem alarms, but we have been very disappointed with the Chummie. We are returning it and will buy another Malem alarm instead. Our complaints about the Chummie alarm: First, they claim the sensor is soft, flexible and will mold to your body. No so! It is very large, rigid and my son thought it was really uncomfortable to wear (he's a side sleeper and it poked into his skin when trying to sleep that way). Second, the sensor does not stay attached to my son's underpants very well, even when we use the Chummie adhesive strips. My son moves around a lot when he's sleeping, and the sensor ends up coming off, which makes it completely useless! He wakes up soaked in pee but the alarm is not going off because it's no attached any more. To get it to stay on, you have to use lots of adhesive tape and then put a second pair of underpants on over the top of the sensor. That's fine when you first put your child to bed, but it's a HUGE inconvenience when the alarm goes off during the night and you have to help your half-asleep child get out of all that wet clothing, go potty, put dry undies back on, and reattach the alarm sensor. NOT pleasant task at 2'oclock in the morning! I do not recommend this alarm!!! Pay a little more and buy one of the Malem alarms. Their very tiny sensor is extremely easy to attach to your child's underpants, and it will not be noticeable to your child when they are sleeping. Their sensor will not accidentally come off and it's very quick to reset after it goes off in the middle of the night. No adhesive tape required!

Sicuramente con l’utilizzo dell’allarme abbiamo eliminato il problema allagamento letto. Non abbiamo ancora risolti del tutto ma sono fiduciosa, quindi ho acquistato questo che mi sembra molto valido e resistente, il sensore è sensibile e quindi confortevole e soprattutto lo ho scelto per le suonerie variabili affinché non si abitui ad un solo suono. Unica pecca se si bagna anche pochissimo la muta da l’adesivo è da cambiare perché non tiene più...

I have had a few bed wetting alarms over the past couple of years. All apart from one failed miserably. I achieved good results with a bed wetting mat but beware, the urine degrades the circuits and the performance of the mat deteriorates quickly. So my daughter has had a relapse which is not uncommon and I chose Chummie. It was sceptical about using a wired alarm. But taking everything into account this is an excellent product. Advantages: The one drop detection really works. The alarm sounds the second a drop is detected. Most nights no urine reached the bed, and if so it was just a very small patch so I didn't have to change the sheets till morning. The pad does not degrade. So if your child has a relapse you can use it again. The alarm is loud and the sound (and vibration) really irritated my daughter and apparently it changes randomly which she hated even more. The bottom line is it made her get out of bed! Disadvantages Positioning the pad on your child's underwear can be a little tricky to start with. On a girl don't place it too high. I mastered it after a couple of nights. The Chummie tape on its own will not hold the pad in place. I used it in combination with surgical tape. The loose wire will also need to be secured. I used the surgical tape to tape the wire in two places to my daughter's tummy. Without these measures the pad is likely to dislodge in my experience. Luckily surgical tape is inexpensive. My daughter started to have dry nights after a week and a half and I am very pleased. As long as you are prepared to help your child to detach and reattach the device at night, this is an excellent choice and value for money.

Muy práctica y cómoda. Mi hijo de 8 años se despierta el sólo cuando la oye. Lleva una una semana con ella y estoy muy contenta. La pena no haberla comprado antes. Es fácil de usar y mi hijo se la pone y se la quita el sólito. Está cumpliendo mis expectativas y espero que mi hijo sea capaz de despertarse para ir al baño sin usarla en unos quince días.
