You can safely ignore the complaints about the handle falling off.
Many other people have marked this with one or two stars, because they said the handle doesn't stay on. I found one review which suggested using a bit of oil, so I ignored the poor reviews, and bought this Harris set. Sure enough, the handle is designed to seat deeply in the receiver, and it takes determination, and not a little strength to get it there. So you can safely ignore all the reviews which complain about this, so long as you use a bit of brute force to seat the handle. Once properly in (It goes right to the bottom of the receiver) it's not coming out again. The only thing lacking is some sort of instruction about assembling it, to give confidence to the timid, to keep going harder & harder until it clicks into place. oh, and by the way, the pads are far better quality than the cheap sets available, and will take washing and reusing with ease. The cheap sets are effectively single use, because the furry bits rub off when you clean them. Not so this Harris set.

Not awful.
I’m not sure why so many negative reviews. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and got this for ease rather than cutting in with a brush. Is it easier than a brush and roller? Possibly not. But it does do its job. I had no issues with it falling off the handle like some reviews, it does click into place and the corner painter is okay too. I painted white over white, but I should imagine for a ‘neat finish’ with colour youd still have to use some decorator tape. I didn’t find the larger pad was able to hold much paint when dipped into the tray but I adapted and dipped it into the actual paint tub and just wiped it off on the sides. It did leave a smooth coverage on the walls with minimal drips and mess. Is it better than a brush and roller? Maybe not. But I would reuse it now I have it.

Wish I'd read the reviews BEFORE buying.......
I've used Paint Pads for absolutely years but due to their replacement pads availability, I decided to update my old ones with new. I purchased this Harris set as: a) Harris had a reputable name. b) I was able to pick up 2 large replacement pads off eBay for a decent price. Upon opening the kit, the first thing I noticed was it was covered in fibres - which is not what you want in your paint! Now the pads I used to use simply slid onto the handle, so not to be presumptuous with the Harris type I looked for instructions. There was none! It's not Rocket Science working out how to fit it but I just wanted to play safe. It 'simply' push fits into place. Ha! Simply my ass!! Trying not to exert too much pressure I frustratingly tried different angles to get the handle to push-fit into the pad - consciously aware it was only made of plastic. But no matter what I did, it was going nowhere. Then suddenly the handle gave with a loud click... or rather a crack - as the handle had snapped! My face was red, the air was blue, and no way were the walls going be their intended colour today. I then decided to take a look at the reviews for this product. A bit too late I confess, but I initially relied upon the reputation of Harris. What a mistake. Many a person has had trouble fitting the handle - plus other problems which I never even got the chance to encounter. I then decided to look online for other reviews and came across those left on the B&Q site. Not surprisingly 12 out of 17 customers gave a 1 star, with only two leaving a 5 star review. Overall score was 1.8 stars. Why Harris continue to market this product is beyond me. They MUST be aware of the design fault. I'll not be so flippant in future by relying on a companies past history. The quality of products have declined over the years everywhere. People say things aren't built to last these days... I never got chance to cross the starting line!

Poor quality handle
The pads themselves are of decent quality. My main gripe is with the handle that attaches to the largest of the pads. The quality is very poor. It has a sliding catch that is supposed to engage into pair of notches in order to lock the head at two alternative angles. I just cant get the catch to engage because the fit is very poor, so the head ends up swivelling. I would have expected better.

Waste of money
Bought two of these, hoping I could use it to reach the awkward corners / wall-ceiling meeting point above the stairs without having to use a ladder. First problem was snapping the sponge onto the plastic head. You have to really push to get it to snap on, which can take a fair bit of time - time that would be better spent actually painting than fighting with the tools. Then I had to attach the head to another piece of plastic, which allows the head to be angled at one end (actually worked quite well), and the entire assembly to be attached to an extension pole. That was also pretty hard, but I finally managed to get it on without it breaking. The assembly didn't have a standard threading which would allow me to screw it onto the pole, so I just had to jam it on. This was always going to be problematic, since unless you regularly check the assembly is jammed on between each application, it will eventually fall off. This is exactly what happened, with the result that the assembly smashed onto the stairs, leaving paint on the carpet (luckily not an issue in my case since it's being replaced anyway) - but it also snapped on impact, meaning I had to try again with the other one since there was no way I was going to be able to extract the snapped piece from the head without a massive struggle. With the second head, it was again a time-consuming struggle to get the sponge onto the head. Once I'd done this, I couldn't for the life of me manage to actually fit the angling part, despite wasting a lot of time trying. I always felt that pushing too hard would just snap it anyway. This might point to variations in manufacturing precision. So eventually I gave up, and went back to struggling with a paintbrush on the pole. All in all, this was a waste of time and money for me.

Fantastic!
Brilliant product! A must for anyone painting large or small areas. Covers quickly and thoroughly. No drips, runs or splashes. I also ordered the extending pole and was amazed at the quality. The job was made so easy, I will never use a roller again. The 9 inch pad gives slightly more coverage than other 8" brands and the kit contains a good selection of assorted useful edging / corner pads. The main pad has a corrugated profile which holds more paint than a flat pad, and the hand piece has a couple of click-stops to set it's angle to the wall and a free-floating setting which I found best. All in all I was amazed by the quality and usefulness of this product and would recommend it without hesitation. 10/10

Imbiancato in metà tempo!!!

Rotzooi, onbruikbaar.

A éviter
