It's not some toy - It can do some serious work!
Night vision is quite expensive so anything priced below 1k, I usually skip over. This thing has surpassed all expectations for the price it is sold for. It is at a fixed magnification so you cant really use it close up. We tested it ranged out at the beach at 30 and 50 yards. And the first picture is at our weapons range at around 80 yards. Even with almost no light up in the mountains at the gun range, you can see things are still perfectly visible. Expectations must be maintained though. This is not going to compete with a 4k$ set of PVS-14's or something similar. This is a digital NVG unit that relies on ambient or infrared light to see in the dark. Resolution is not bad and you can make out faces, but it wont be like looking at an HD picture. There will be grain depending on how much infrared light you use. While detail can be visible in great detail at night, you also have to constantly focus as subjects change location or distance to keep them sharp. The still photos are going to come out grainier than the video itself. And the audio is sub par, often having a low buzz in the background. But we aren't buying NVG's for recording audio, are we? The unit is perfectly capable of working in complete darkness at extended ranges. Just remember, if someone else has digital NVG's too, they can see you IR flood light a mile away. And given that the included flood light is very powerful, a faint red light can be picked up by the naked eye as well on the strongest setting. If you wish to keep hidden, you will have to lower the power. It comes with a micro SD card included and you can record right away! It takes some time to get used to the controls but it isnt complicated. Just takes practice! Overall, I am really pleased with this NVG. It is still hard to believe that you can find something you could rely on (and isnt a child's Christmas toy) for this price range, but we have used it indoors and outdoors with no issues! The fact that it can be mounted to a tripod makes it even more useful as a spotting scope. For the price, I am pretty happy with it.

Great night vision mono for the money.
Great night vision mono for the money. Typical Chinese controls (on screen), but it gets the job done. Battery (one 14500 lion cell) is sufficient, but I ordered two from China as a backup. Would have preferred AA, but for the price...

More like a camera vs a monocular.
It's more of a Night Vision Camera vs a Night Vision monocular

Terrible interface/Terrible visibility/Not worth the money or time
I really don't like writing bad reviews - but this is a bad product and deserves a bad review. It looks and feels as promised, but the controls, the viewing portal, what you can actually see - terrible. Terribly laid out, terribly executed. A total waste of time to try and learn, and for me now, a door stop.

Does the job well
Easily charges, really good night vision for the price. Handy and easy to use. We weren't much interested in the photo and video capeabilities, but we have them if we need them. The charge lasts about 6 hours, wish it lasted longer but overall good night vision.

It's about cost to value
The generation isn't very high but for the money the optics are clear and easily switched back and forth between zoom level and brightness. Battery life is a little short but lasts long enough for a on again off again scan of the terrain.

Good but fiddly
The BOBLOV night vision monocular is good for night vision, my main issue was that the buttons were a bit fiddly to get used to and the fov is very small, so tracking objects is OK, but difficult, it does film the night sky very well though, if you'd had a bigger fov it would be amazing, but sadly wasn't for me so sent it back.
