Great 36" Paella pan, better than expected. Heavy, thick steel and has 4 red steel handles.
I'm impressed with the quality of this paella pan. Very well manufactured with heavy, thick steel, could not find any defects in it. Typical paella pan. I own 3 other pans (12", 18" and 32") from different manufactures; this one is as good if not better than those.I hesitated to buy this brand because the add shows a picture with only 2 handles, unusual for the 36" and larger sizes. So I took a gamble and was amazed when I opened the package and, indeed, has 4 nice big red metal handles (see picture). BTW, handles are strongly attached with 4 rivets each.I saw some negative reviews complaining about the label, the pan rusting and uneven heat due to thin metal at the bottom. I had no problems removing the label, pan does not rust if season properly y and protect with oil after wash/ hand dry. If you use the proper paella 3 rings gas burners, wood fires or a good gas stove works great. This pan is NOT for electric or induction stoves, as specified in the add and labels. Lastly, the coating finish is only for shipping purposes, it's supposed to be removed while seasoning the pan.Overall, very happy with the purchase. I'll update if I have any issues while cooking my next big paella.Ed

Fantastic Papen
Fantastic paella pan. We could pay you about once a month and this is a perfect size for a family of six. At least you would just a little bit of leftover.

Perfect Pan for Paella
I bought this to use on a ceramic kamado style grill (a Primo Kamado - like a Big Green Egg). I knew the handles would be too big to allow the pan to fit with the lid closed, so I ground the rivets off, removed the large steel handles, and then fashioned some of my own out of thick copper wire. I made some copper rivets out of wire stock and hammered the shallower handles back on. It then fit inside the 19" diameter ceramic grill perfectly when I shut the lid.The grill itself is steel, so you need to coat it with oil. I just wiped it down, inside and out, with olive oil on a paper towel, so it wouldn't rust while sitting in the pan drawer in my kitchen. When I finished using it, I scrubbed it clean with one of those copper scrub pads from the dollar store, re-oiled it, and placed it back into the drawer until next time. This pan held its shape, did not distort when heated, and performed as expected when making paella. I grilled the meat in it and then used it to prepare the sofrito before finishing the paella inside the grill with the lid closed. If I were to create the perfect paella pan for my grill, I would want vertical handles instead of horizontal ones.

IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE FRIGGIN LABEL OFF, EASILY RUSTS
This will be my first negative review on Amazon I think. When I received the pan, it looked and felt great, hence the one star. The trouble started when I tried to remove the label. The part of the label that didn't have adhesive on it came off fine. The parts of the label with the adhesive on them did not. The outer paper part came off but left a sticky residue. I followed the directions and mixed water with vinegar and it didn't work. The directions said if that didn't work, then apply heat. I did that and it didn't work. The directions said to then boil water in the pan. I did that and it didn't work and the water vinegar mix started to leave a burnt stain along the edges of the pan. I finally got the adhesive off by boiling the water and vinegar mix and using a wooden spoon to scrape the adhesive at the same time. The pan then immediately started to rust. Now I am stuck with a pan that has a rim of rust around the whole outer edge of the pan. I am afraid to cook anything in it for fear of the food tasting like rust. What a waste of money. Why do these companies use such strong adhesive on a friggin vessel used for cooking??? I'm so super disappointed. Would love my money back but I don't know if it's worth the hassle.

Excellent pan, cooks great and cleans up well
This has proven to be a fantastic pan. The size is awesome and it works great for making paella for groups from 4 to 12 people. Its true that the glue from the sticker and its removal was annoying, but didn't pose a real problem. Once properly seasoned, this pan cleans up surprisingly easily. Heat distribution across the pan from my medium sized burner is surprisingly good too. Overall, I am tremendously impressed with this pan. Please note that buyers need to understand what it means to own a steel pan. If you try to soak this thing, wash it with soap or otherwise treat it as if it were a stainless pan, you'll be disappointed. If you know how to care for steel/or cast iron, you'll be ready for this pan.

Large enough to feed 14 people
Good quality, typical, authentic paella pan! The food that is stuck in the bottom is always a pain to clean, especially if you don't properly coat it with hot oil to make it non-stick prior to using. It rusts easily as you wash with soap and water so make sure to coat with oil and clean it immediately after using it. The pan is very big, keep in mind that it doesn't fit into a 36" oven, only range top use or open fire!

Worked Well Then Rusted In Spots After Cleaning
This Paella pan worked great when used on two gas burners on our Thermadoor counter top range. It's heavy enough to resist most heat induced warping (I'm sure someone somewhere will be able to warp it through the abusive application of heat/fire...but that qualifies as misuse in my opinion). And the first Paella made in it was wonderful. So why the 3-star rating. I have not given this pan a higher rating because after cleaning by hand using a synthetic wool pad and rinsing there appeared a circular rusty looking spot in one area. I cleaned it and it returned. I'm disappointed by this rusty spot that appeared for no apparent reason other than this isn't stainless which an authentic Paella pan isn't. A trad pan is high-carbon steel. Anyway I'm going to have to clean with oil apparently to remove this reappearing spot prior to using each time. It's only one spot about 4" in a circle too which is a bit strange. Oh well, at least it was not expensive I guess?
