Jamo 6.5CS in Ceiling Surround Sound Home Theater Speaker, Pair, Round

An entry level speaker that produces a really nice sound for such an inexpensive speaker. Using as my zone b speakers in my kitchen. They provide adequate highs and lows for their purpose and location. For what its worth, to anyone considering these, Jamo was bought out by Klipsch a while back.

If you've never heard of Jamo speakers, its because they are not sold in the big box stores. Its mostly Home Audio/Visual businesses who sell them. I've been using Jamo speakers for 10 years now. Indoor and outdoor. They never dissappoint. These were a great addition to my 5.1 Surround. I previously purchased the dual voice-coil 3-way speaker and mounted it as my Center Channel speaker. I purchased these 2-way's to use as my rear channels. Always a great product.

These 6.5" Jamo are VERY LOW PRICE ceiling speakers. I got mine on promotional sale for $40 a pair or $20 each. In the end, I got what I paid for on these speakers. The 0.5" tweeter sounds very tinny and exaggerated. Depending on your receiver model, this can be corrected to some extent by your receiver. But what will be hard to correct is the very deficient low midrange/upper bass. That upper bass/low midrange (somewhere between baritone and tenor) just sounds very weak. The result is that voices in that range sound like someone talking through a sound synthesizer. Male voices sound harsh and lacking in mellowness. I think the 6.5" speakers just don't cut it for me. I recommend spending more on 8" or larger speakers. Jamo sells 8.5" ceiling speakers, which I have not tried, but I'm willing to bet the 8.5" would sound a whole lot richer and more mellow and far less tinny than the 6.5" model. For myself I ended up returning the 6.5" Jamo and buying Polk's 8" ceiling speakers (model MC80), which sound very rich and has decent bass, without any tinniness.

I already had a set of these installed in the basement when I bought the house; they sound great. I put these in my living room. If you are looking for a budget set of speakers that sound great and actually last, these are them. You really will not go wrong here!

These are a perfect match for the same unit installed in our house by the original owner in 2004. Sound quality is fine for a surround speaker and installation is appropriately simple.

Sound is perfect. No instructions were included? set up was easy, it fit and worked perfect for my drop ceiling.

I have some other sets of these and they have been very good. Easily installed and work great. I would recommend.
