KitchenAid Stand Mixer Bowl

Like most stand mixers, a metal bowl came with mine. There are some serious reasons for my ordering this product. First, I wanted something larger and visual, that is, so I could see what was happening at every level. My first project with my new glass bowl was to make bread. It was a great success and my family can't wait until I make some more. My new bowl is not just glass. It has a hammered effect that makes it look quite beautiful and it also has a specially-fitted lid. What is so extra-helpful with my glass bowl is that it is larger than the metal bowl that came with my new machine. Because it is larger, It is much easier to slow down the speed and put in whatever else is needed without having to stop and lift up the head so ingredients can be added and then put down and lock the head so you can resume mixing. The lid keeps the bowl clean and I can simply begin making any recipe without worrying about dust having to be washed away first. I would not hesitate to recommend this large hammered glass bowl to anyone who is a serious cook.

Bought this used from the warehouse. Saved $15. I guess I can say Im thankful for the people that cant read a description, follow instructions or view pictures and returned this beautiful bowl. lol You can see your stuff inside the bowl well enough to know whats going on. Its 100% better than the short 4.5 gt metal bowl that came with my mixer. Its nice to have a second bowl so Im hanging onto both. I had problems with stuff slopping over the sides and bread dough creeping out of the small bowl. Not the case with the large bowl. I did have to adjust the mixer head height maybe a 1/4 turn of the screw? Not much. Works great with the kitchenaid flex head beater too. To adjust I sprayed the bowl down with oil and coated with flour to see if I was dinging the bowl with the regular beater and to make sure the flex beater was ok without having to adjust again. If the handle or spout are hitting the machine when putting the bowl on you are doing it wrong. ;) Have a good look and you will figure it out. Honestly there isnt anything different between the tilt head mixers except the motor and the bowl they come with so.... if it works on one it works on all.

This was a compromise because of weight difference between this hammered glass bowl at 4.7 lb and the ceramic bowl at 6.6 lb. This hammered glass bowl is twice as heavy as the SS bowl but 2.2 lb lighter then the ceramic bowl. Add another pound or more of ingredients into the ceramic bowl and it becomes a really heavy two handed bowl to work with even for strong armed people. So after much deliberation I chose this glass one for when a second bowl is needed. The SS polished bowl is the best to work with most of the time and looks really good uncovered on display. The pour spout makes this glass bowl handy for other uses. It would be advisable to not over tighten the glass bowl on the mixer considering it's plastic base. 02-03-21 Still liking this mixer bowl, especially since it has gone up in price more then $100 since 10/2018. How can anything triple in price in 2.5 years?

This is our second glass KitchenAid glass bowl. Our first one is the clear glass model and this second one is hammered glass. It's a beautiful bowl, sturdy, and easy to use. One bonus that we were not expecting: it included a lid. A lid was noted for the clear and frosted glass models, but not the hammered glass. We weren't sure why it was not included, but figured that we could live without it. It's great having one for each bowl. We are pleased all around. I'm so in love with this bowl! My husband bought this for me for my birthday and I can't believe how beautiful it is. It's easy to clean and I love the pour spout. It was a little more than I would have spent on myself, so I'm glad it was a gift.

Item arrived in a timely manner and aesthetically beautiful but the bowl is completely overpriced and the reason people tend to even get this bowl is because the residue the steel bowl leaves during use.

I LOVE this mixing bowl... it’s 5qt and gots snugly in my 4.5qt mixer, and works well with all of my attachments. The textured exterior is so pretty, and the lid that comes with it creates air tight seal. Obsessed with my Kitchenaid mixer, and all it’s accessories <3 <3

Beautiful clear glass bowl with "hammered" texture. I wanted to be able to see my ingredient level, but had no use for the clear glass bowls that have the measures on the side. This is beautiful and makes me smile sitting on my kitchen counter.

These bowls are great. I was looking for extra bowls for the mixer i received for Christmas Bowls were 79 dollars to buy the stainless steel replacement bowl, These were 39 with a $20 mail in rebate. $19....i bought 2. My mixer is a 4.5 quart and the bowls are 5 quart, for a $60 savings per bowl I can scrape the edge. The fit in place nicely and i am very pleased

This bowl is a generous size... bigger than the standard metal bowl that came with my Artisan. Love that it has the lid included so that I can chill dough immediately after preparing it. With the mail in rebate that is sometimes available, this is a great deal!

Fits perfect

Love it. I'm a bit confused by the plastic attachment at the bottom. It's hard to get into the slots, it's removable and collects water when being washed if not removed, and it seems like something that will break easy and I don't see any replacements for just that part. Nevertheless I really like being able to see what I'm baking and what's sitting at the bottom. Vast improvement over the metal bowl on my Classic 5qt.

I chose this rating because this Mixing Bowl was available at a reasonable cost to me. I priced this item in various stores in my City and the price was much higher. This bowl is exactly what I was looking for to replace a stainless steel bowl that came with my mixer.
