## Description

Product description

Review: Much more versatile than the old Bullworker - I bought a used Bullworker 2 on eBay for about $50. After several months of using it, I was hooked. However, because there is only one level of resistance, it meant that my overhead and behind-the-back compressions could barely budge the thing, yet my leg presses and bent rows would fully compress it. I stuck with it, and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a new Bullworker. I saw the small "Steel Bow' and thought it would be perfect for some of those compressions, as well as the leg adduction. And because these new devices contain 5 levels of spring resistance (easy and quick to change out, btw), it meant that I could now put the Red spring in for my legs (150 lb resistance), and the weaker springs (yellow) for the tough, behind-the back, lower and overhead compressions. So I splurged and instead of just buying a new "classic bow", I bought the entire set, including the Steel Bow and the ISO-Bow and ISO-Bow, and ISO-FLO extension straps. All told, there are 131 different exercise you can do with all this equipment. But I figured, for now, I will only use the Classic Bow mostly, and for some exercises, the Steel Bow. In retrospect, it was more economical to just buy the Classic Bow, because although the Steel Bow seems like it can work more acute angles of the muscle, in reality, because of the variable springs included, the Classic Bow can do the same thing. But so what, they are both very well-made, solid pieces of equipment, and I really appreciate the nice rubber grips so my poor hands don't suffer. All 4 devices (Classic Bow, Steel Bow, ISO-FLO, and ISO-BOW) come with their own booklets. The Steel Bow is essentially a copy of the Classic Bow booklet, with a couple minor exceptions and only one exercise it can do that is not included in the Classic Bow. The booklets are spiral-bound, laminated and very sturdy. Don't worry about sweating on them. I have only two quibbles, one bigger than the other. The big quibble is that the Classic Bow and Steel Bow will SEPARATE if you try and do the reverse-grip and inside-grip compressions, because when you only grab the tubes, it will pull apart from the handle! The only way to prevent this from happening is to unfortunately grab the cables at the same time, which will pull the handles down with the pipes, and it won't separate. The simplicity and ease of changing the springs (a nice feature) also aids in separating the pipes if you only grab the pipes and not the handles or cables for the exercise. You'd think they could put a "lock" feature on it. Oh well, it's not that big of a deal. The other quibble is that I don't think the Bullworker company actually researched exactly what muscles are being recruited for many of their exercises. For example, some of the overhead or behind-the-back compressions, or archer or deadlifts say that certain muscles are worked, but it seems to be off. It's not carefully studied, so you have to either (a) do your own research as you exercise to find out what muscles seem taxed; or (b) just trust in the delightful variation of movements the Bullworker program has dug up. One more final quibble: the original Bullworker 2 I bought was a program built upon isometrics-ONLY. The 65%/7-second study by Hettinger and Muller was cited, and therefore, the wall chart had a complete program of doing only the isometric holds, and NO isotonic (dynamic) movements. This seems to be more consistent with the science and since the Bullworker is a fantastic, safe and versatile device to work out the entire body using isometric contractions (without trying to scrounge for props, such as tugging on doorknobs, hanging off doors, finding heavy boxes and books to lift, etc.) , and a device you can take with you while traveling, there is absolutely no need to introduce isotonics. However, sadly it seems that Bullworker has succumbed to the "dynamic" movement, and recommends the isometric holds "followed by ten reps". Because a single, properly-done isometric contraction is equal to 3 sets of 10 reps (it's true), why include an extra 10 reps, esp. when you have just traumatized the muscle and your CNS is stressed from the isometric contraction? I think it's because of marketing: It just "looks better" to show videos of people moving the device back and forth, back and forth, because that is how we usually view resistance exercise. But it does a disservice to the Bullworker's original pure claims. In any case, you don't HAVE to follow the isotonic (dynamic) part of any routine, but just enjoy all the isometric holds your heart can desire with these amazing devices.
Review: Best Investment Ever... - During the quarantine, while trying to come up with ways to continue to work out, I happened to find an old vintage Bullworker in my closet. It had been there for many years and forgotten as my brother was the one who originally purchased it and used it. To my surprise, it was in great working condition. I found some workouts online and went at it... WOW, the machine delivered GREAT results. People I ran into thought I was secretly going to a gym- they were amazed. I decided to purchase the power package (Bow Classic, Steel Bow, Iso-Flo) and it is absolutely the best investment in my body I have ever made. I will not be returning to the gym again. In a few minutes, I can thoroughly and intensely do a whole body workout or I can focus on a certain body part, it's your choice. The results are amazing! A great feature is the ability to change the intensity by simply swapping the springs. This allows people of all training levels to do the workouts, even if they have never trained. Whether you're young or old, male or female I highly recommend making this investment in your body. You WILL NOT regret it. I hardly write reviews but in this case, I felt compelled to do so.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I am barely over 5 ft/152 cm and physically disabled, on my knees the 36" is my height. Can I use the 20'' instead for the angled floor exercises?**
A: That depends a good deal on exactly how well you are able to move and position yourself. I do use the 20” for seated or kneeling exercises and believe that one would likely be best for those moves.

**Q: is clasic bull worker single unit available without kit**
A: Yes Clasic with 5 springs is available.

**Q: What is the difference between the classic and steel? and do i need both?**
A: Both the Bow Classic (36") and the Steel Bow (20") are designed to be stand alone products for total body fitness. The Bow Classic specializes with more range of motion for legs and powerful holds. The Steel Bow specializes in versatility and muscle targeting. We think of the Bow Classic as a barbell and the Steel Bow as a dumbbell. Both have perks but you cannot go wrong with either. If you plan to travel or take your Bullworker with you, the Steel Bow is much easier.

It is nice to have both. We find many prefer to interchange the two units during a routine. Example, Steel Bow for chest compression and and Bow Classic for lat pull downs.

**Q: 1. Are the strength levels of the springs the same in each bow? 2. The classic has a greater range of motion, correct?**
A: Hello,

Below are the spring resistance levels for the Bow Classic. And yes the 36" Bow Classic has a greater range of motion compared to our 20" Steel Bow model.

Blue (Level 1): 0-25 lbs
Yellow (Level 2): 0-50 lbs
Grey (Level 3): 0-75 lbs
Black (Level 4): 0-100 lbs
Red (Level 5): 0-150 lbs

Thanks!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fell for it again!?
*by B***R on July 28, 2020*

I'll admit it, I spent my hard earned money on the original Bullworker many years ago. At that time, I tried it a few times but, decided it wasn't going to work for me and focused on pumping iron...I wrote it off like I did the Sea Monkey's I bought. Fast forward a several decades. COVID-19 hits, gyms close in March 2020, I do next to nothing until they re-open (limited) in June 2020. My joints ached, nothing felt right lifting, chronic shoulder pain flared up again. Watching the resurgence of COVID-19, I've become concerned that it won't be long before the gym is going to close again. So, I search for a solution. There, on Amazon, is the Bullworker Power Pack. After researching (i.e. company website, YouTube, etc..), I bought it again (old fools...etc..???). Bottom line, I was wrong decades ago and my doubts have vanished. I'm still lifting but, the Bullworker has become an essential part of my strength training. In particular, it has helped me get back in touch with muscle isolation through isometric strength training. With the Bullworker's help, I'm attacking my bad lifting habits and I'm fairly certain, that if necessary, the Power Pack will get me through another gym closure. I haven't even begun to fully utilize it. It's helped me activate muscles I haven't felt a burn in for a long time and that in turn, has helped me to keep the "lift" out of my joints. I apologize for sneering at your product for so long. It is very solid and has a lot of versatility. The documentation is great. Maybe I'll take another look at the Sea Monkey's....lol.
