Delicious
These need rehydrating for few hours for best results. Once done the texture is wonderfully chewy. These are my first Maitake mushrooms and the recommendations were to cook them because raw they have a strong woody flavor but I rather like them raw as well as cooked. Suggestions for cooking were to pair with salty flavors and this works well as far as I am concerned. I sauteed them in garlicky soy sauce until dry then finished in a bit of sesame oil until trips were crisp and wow, savory and delicious!! It really works. Next I will try with berebere spice or curry. It might be a bit pricey for one package but they are hand picked in the forest so, totally worth it!!!

Very delicious and good texture!
You need to simmer these dried mushrooms for at least 20 minutes but they are tasty. Good for broth, gravy, and soup. I am trying to eat whole plant foods and avoid artificial flavors. These come in handy because the flavor is good and they are easy to store. I will purchase them again.

We love all of the MycoLogical dried mushrooms
We love all of the MycoLogical dried mushrooms. Very easy to reconstitute, a great and flavourful addition to soups, stews, omelettes. Probably not in the fresh salad, but these are sure handy to add extra depth or complexity of flavour to any savoury dish. A Subscribe and Save staple.

Misleading packaging, Most likely not wild foraged, and a Product of China
The label would have you believe that there are gnomes frolicking the forests of Oregon picking these, but they're a product of China and very likely cultivated to their standards. There's nothing inherently wrong with that but it's important to know the difference and advertise accurately. It is affordable, and the fresh weight equivalent price would be only $8 per lb, I wonder how they're paying forest foragers (if that's what they're doing) to pick these. More likely, these are being cultivated. Again, nothing wrong with cultivating mushrooms, but packaging would have you thinking otherwise, so I feel this is misleading.
