I have been using a Kast King multiplier rated up to 18lb drag but the fish in my pond bigger and more feisty than that and I couldn't hold them. this'un is more than adequate not too large nice design and nice paint job. casts easily with no birdies. caught my first 20lb mirror rod bent double but reel held easily.

This is as good as a budget reel can get. I normally fish Daiwa Lexas/ Tatulas, Shimano Curados/ Scorpions/ Tranx, Penn Fathoms LP…etc. i have my preferences but not brand specific. At times I like to just purchase reels just to try them out. I service reels as a hobby so I like to open up each reel to see what they are made of. This Alijoz 300 is actually good. It’s smooth, solid, great drag system, casts very well. Internally, it’s almost like the mainstream brands in regards to materials used. Design is slightly different on freespool clutch system (more plastic parts). Bearings are lower quality bearings but this is a low price budget reel, so it’s fine. Currently I have two Alijoz 300, both came from factory with a light coat of white light weigh grease. I’ve added Yamaha marine grease to all necessary parts including the bearing under the main drive shaft; and oiled all other bearings with ReelX. I fish mainly saltwater and so far this reel is holding up fine. For the price, they are good reels. At sale price, they are excellent reels. They are not as tight tolerance and refined as like the higher end Shimano tranx and daiwa lexa. But for less than half the price I’d recommend them for sure.

I've been using the Piscifun Alijoz 300 8.1:1 for inshore saltwater fishing but I will be also using it for freshwater also when needed. It performs really well and is very smooth. 8+1 Shielded ball Bearings and a 36 inch retrieve is nice for getting fish through cover in a hurry.. It casts a mile and the 33lb drag is definitely a bonus. FYI the magnetic breaking system is accessed by turning the head of the pin it does not have a release button. Which is nice so you don't accidentally have it fall off into the water..This reel performs just as well as some of my higher end reels. Just make sure you oil it and give it some minor tlc before you take it out on the water so it will perform as it should. Don't open the box throw it on a rod and go because my reel was not properly lubricated. Based on how well this reel is built I believe with proper maintenance this reel will last for years to come. I highly recommend this reel for its performance and also its affordability.

Super reel , never will I spend $200 plus dollars on a high brand name reel , this one is impressive . Been using it over a year now and it works great ! I do bass tournaments so my rods and reals get a good workout. During a tournament I bring 10 rods and reels and this is one of my favorites

Purchased this reel specifically to throw a clutch dater glide bait. Reel is fabulous, smooth as butter and casts like a dream. Needed a high gear ratio reel for a few very erratic glide baits. This reel is phenomenal with a clutch darter, this reel takes up 36 inches of per handle crank, it really really wakes up my erratic glide baits!!! 5 stars if it lasts, not sure about longevity yet, but I have the 5.9.1 also for some other glides and they are both super good reels for the price. I would put the 300 series right up there with a diawa costal or tatula any day! Awesome reel!!!
