Western Swing Fiddle

This is actually a pretty good book. It's mostly an introduction to the jazz/improvisational aspect of playing Western Swing which is really what most people are going to need. You'll need to be at an intermediate playing level (or close to it) for this book. Unlike some other "methods" this book doesn't get bogged down trying to explain every aspect of playing all at once, but breaks the subject into bite sized pieces. The downlodable audio tracks also help keep you moving along. It's a pretty short book, but that's good since every few pages you feel like you've made some progress in getting through all of the material. Even though the focus is on Western Swing fiddling, this book is a good basic introduction to improvisational playing, and the instruction is applicable to many styles of music.

good deal for the money... may be a little bit too rudimentary, but still insightful.

Great book very concise like the ear training exercises. Explains theory so it is understandable and the book is laid out so you can practice melody, back ups or breaks. Has done much to improve my playing.

I ordered this book over a month ago.....never received it!!!! I have contacted the seller with no response.....PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SELLER....I will gladly recant this review if they would just send me my item or refund my money!!!!!!
