Medium sized & not expandable but pretty nice
I appearently have briefcase buying issues. This is the 3rd briefcase I've bought in 3 months. I bought this one thinking I was buying the expandable briefcase I had been looking at but no, this is not expandable. I was immediately disappointed but it was totally my fault. I did need a briefcase bigger than the one I was using so I gave this one a try. After about 2 weeks, I was glad it wasn't expandable. I can't fit everything I need in it but appearently everything I need must weigh a ton because after a couple weeks of carrying, I can't imagine carrying any more weight on my shoulder... So, Pros & Cons.Pros:Good basic look. Ok looking but nothing fancy that stands out. If you live or work in place that notices what the work is carried around in, maybe you should look at something else. If you're in school or just want something functional, this will work just fine.A fair amount of space. There are three main sections. One for a thin-ish laptop or tablet. It is lightly padded. There is still room in that section for a portfolio or book thats not too, too thick. The middle section takes 1 big book or two thinner ones w/ room left for file folders or note pads. The front section is divided up w/ pockets, etc. to fit various forms of junk. There is a zippered pocket on the very front/outside of briefcase that runs almost the full length. I put a students pencil holder (zippered bag type) in there & it holds all my dry erase markers, pens, pencils etc.The Front section (junk section) & Back section (tablet/laptop section) COMPLETLY unzip on 3 sides. This makes it incredibly nice to go through an airport or to find things in your "junk" section. The shoulder strap is long enough to adjust how you like and has a modest padded sectional.Very modest price.Cons:Durability: I'm not certain its fair for me to comment on this because I regularly overstuff my briefcases. But, the fabric strength seems fairly modest. If you remember the fabric luggage dennier wars (1200 became 1500,1800,2600,etc) a while back, this would not have even qualified. After just 6 weeks, it's starting to fray a little on the strap and sides-not badly but definitely fraying. I think it will probably hold up for a couple years but if your hard on your briefcases, you may want something tougher.Although I mentioned the shoulder strap is long enough, the briefcase won't really work as a messeger bag. I tried for a while and it just doesn't work. It's not really supposed to but I mention this in case anyone is thinking about using it that way. The padding on the shoulder strap is very minimal & not very effective.Plastic. There are little plastic things attached to all the zipper tabs by cord. There's a lot of them, they're very noticable & they look rather cheap. I think if you zoom in on some of the photos, you can get a better idea of what they look like. Like I said, they are noticable and, short of cutting the cord (which I like), they are very hard to remove. BUT the good news? They seem to be falling off on their own. Two or three are already gone. So: Do I like it? Yes. Would I buy it again? Probably yes. It was under $20 shipped when I bought it and only about $5 more than the Amazon Basics 15.6" briefcase. And although I like the Amazon basics, this briefcase's is more a medium size where as the Amazon is closer to small, internal spacewise.

Only 6 Months
First I have to say I love this bag. It has everything I was wanting in a small/medium bag. The many compartments being able to fit multiple devices, tablet, cell phone, etc. Love the colors and design too. BUT it l fell apart at the seams! I made a point not to ever over stuff the bag. But I purchased it to replace a backpack, proving that it does not have the durability of a backpack. This bag I think would be great with gentle use. I will buy another one but use it for Sunday church book bag.

Great Multi-Purpose Case
Laptop "Briefcase" was a very apt description for this bag. It has 4 main zippered compartments, one clearly for a laptop as it is padded and unzips around past the bottom cornors to make it easy to put a laptop in or take it out, there is also a divider for papers and a velcro strap to keep your porable secure. Then the next is for files, papers, whatever, could even fit a folded, light, change of clothes (but that would really be pushing it), then comes the "junk" compartment, every good case needs on, there are 3 pockets, one for a phone, another for a PDA perhaps, and a third for a big MP3 player, of course any of the three can be used for anything, I keep my passport and check book in two of them usually. It also has pen holders, another nice feature so you don't need to dig for pen.Inside the "junk" section that also fits papers, is a pseudo-hidden inside zipper pocket, not sure what I would use that for, likely losing something I really need, but actually perhaps a good place to keep anything paper you don't want easily seen, like contact lists. The final is a small front pocket, ideal for again, more loose stuff, but perfect for a wallet, tickets, and all your pocket junk you need in the bag for going through the airport or other situations where you need the stuff handy but don't want it in your pocket. It seems every well built, lots of heavy sticking, solid zippers with removable pull cords. semi-stiff ribs for keep the shape, very thick botom material. The only sort of out of place thing on the bad is where ever important part is metal, the "D-Rings" for the strap holder are plastic, pretty beefy plactic, but not metal, so I am saving the ones from my old bag just in case one of these breaks, but most bags I looked at have plastic there now, so no points off.I travel a lot and even when I don't I carry my bag to work everyday and like to get 5 or so years out of one, this one looks like it is up for the job. The padded strap that came with it was one of the best I have ever got with a bad, but I am hooked on those "CaseCrown Comfort Air Cell Padded Netbook Notebook Briefcase Bag Shoulder Strap", you can even get them here on Amazon.I picked one over 5 years ago and while it is still going strong, all I can say is once you get one and if you carry a med-heavy bag a lot, you will be wondering why you had not got one years ago, one of the very few travel gadgets that work.Last note, even with all of this the bag empty is pretty light, not cheap light, but good light.

Good bag
Outside of it being a shade smaller than I needed, I liked the bag. The fabric, zippers, and shoulder strap seemed solid. the laptop compartment seemed adequately padded, especially to the outside. The 3-side zip down cover for airport inspections leaves the laptop on the bag, not the fold down part, which rather negates the purpose. The organization area was well laid out, and I liked the fact that the outside pocket was zippered. The main compartment was large and clean. It would have been nice to have mesh pockets on the side for water/umbrellas.

Excellent case
This case is big enough to easily fit a laptop and a few books/notebooks, plus assorted items in the front pockets. The zippers follow the contour of the bag (down the sides), such that the compartments can be opened wide for easy access. I've used this daily for almost a year, and have not had any problems with the construction (zippers, handles, etc.). (The shoulder strap attaches via a plastic clip, which may be problematic, but I don't use it so I can't speak to that.)The only potential drawback is that this case does not expand the way some others do, so you can't really cram more stuff into it. That is not something I need, though, so I did not deduct any stars.

I have had it completely stuffed to the point I wondered if I wasn't overdoing it but the bag held up nicely. Zippers still work
Benn using the back for a few months now. I have had it completely stuffed to the point I wondered if I wasn't overdoing it but the bag held up nicely. Zippers still working smoothing and no tearing at the seems. This is my every day office bag for carrying my tablet pc, 2 3 ring binders (1in size), a couple small books and a pretty large size study Bible. It also holds my chargers and a small blue tooth keyboard. I have been very impressed with this bag for how cheap it is.

I also did the same mistake of not unpacking it ...
I also did the same mistake of not unpacking it for whole month and blindly think it must be ok.What i get has not dimension of 16 inch which is written on heading but its 14 inch, unable to fit my 15" laptop. Then I carefully read the description and it is 14".But I cant understand the logic behind writing false dimension on the top . Its totally misleading. Also, mine has some thread on the materials came out and the seam is loose at the joints. May be I get someone's returned stuff.. So disappointing.:-(Taught on lession not to believe blindly.

Plenty of compartments and smart looking.
Expands to contain all my textbooks, notes, pens and even a middle padded compartment for a laptop. It can be carried as a briefcase with carry handles or as a duffle using the shoulder straps. The zippers appear to be made of sturdy metal and thick, plastic zip pulls are attached to the traditional metal pulls with woven bunjee-like chord. The bag material is made of polyester, so that should never wear or rip. The stitching which attaches the handles and the front compartments would be the only potential weak point for structural failure.I found it somewhat perplexing and a little disturbing to find a California Proposition 65 warning tag attached to it. It turns out that the Chinese manufacturer utilized lead in manufacturing this bag. What part is lead I can only guess, but it's presence is almost as ironic as it's presence in Chinese-made toys. And while it is difficult to imagine this bag leading to high levels of direct lead exposure, you can always wonder at the tag's catchy jingle, "WARNING: This product contains lead, a chemical know to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm."

Great value for the price
This briefcase has been very durable thus far, and holds everything that I need for my workday. I commute everyday so I have to take additional items with me everywhere I go. There are plenty of compartments to store all my items in this case. My only caution to new purchasers is to inspect the pull tabs prior to first use. I always do this, and I'm glad that I did because one of the pull ties came loose. It was an easy fix, but it would have been really disappointing had I not noticed it right away.

Many pockets. Quite versatile. But the build quality is not that good. WIsh I had bought a Samsonite or American Tourister instead. Those weren't that much more expensive. Oh well... Still usable. It doesn't look that great. It has a rectangular, rather boring look. BUT great price! You might not want to carry too many heavy things. The seams on the handle might burst.

nice little bag will plenty of compartments
nice little bag will plenty of compartments. Sturdy and durable,. Not as big as it looks but can hold enough files or a laptop. Sufficient padding but I am not sure how long it will last. The external is very sturdy but the internal pockets seem very flimsy.

Many pockets to separate your things, and sturdy design.
Very neat little bag. I bought one for me and then 2 for my wife - she wanted them when she saw me using it. So we have them in 3 colors - black, red and blue. Fits a lot of things, including 2 laptops at once, if needed. Many pockets to separate your things, and sturdy design.
