Great to help protect your back with sit ups but sometimes too much on the lower back

I bought this for a CrossFit competition and it worked great.

This one is similar to the other abdominal sit-up support mats I had purchased for others and myself. The quality, foam density, size are all similar to the other 2 brands I have used at the gym. I have seen big, tall and small stature persons using them. I will buy this brand again because it is cheaper than the others plus it comes with a nice 4" wide resistance band that is very useful to me. The company also sent me a link with some workout tips and etc, I don't need it but they may be useful info for people new to training and wanting to know more working out techniques. To me that is a little extra service and care. Their subsequent follow up emails soliciting for customer satisfaction and reviews were friendly and not annoying. I also found another use for this mat. Currently I am using this in my car :) to fill the bucket seat that is scooped so that it levels my car seat cushion.

Bought this mat to replace one I had borrowed from my gym. This is way thicker on the tailbone end than I wanted. Instead of making situps more comfortable, this made them worse because it's very firm and not shaped well for my back personally. I am a petite 5'2" woman and this was too thick for me. For one, it means the mat slides away every time I do a sit up, for another it means my shoulder blades can't even touch the ground when I use this. Not made for small bodies!
