## Description

SAFAVIEH Madison MAD473B is a power-loomed polypropylene vintage medallion area rug in cream and blue, made in Turkey. Shown here in the 6x9 size, it measures 6 ft x 9 ft (72 x 108 in / 183 x 274 cm) and has a 3/8 in pile. A stepped Persian medallion composition reimagined with saturated bohemian energy and gentle vintage abrasions. A neutral cream field establishes a calm foundation for balanced contrasts of blue, light gray, and soft dusty rose accents. Construction: power-loomed in Turkey from polypropylene on a cotton foundation, 3/8 in pile height. Power-Loomed means woven on a computer-guided loom, so the pattern and pile density match across every size. Polypropylene sheds water-based spills instead of absorbing them, holds its color in sun and releases dirt to a vacuum; expect little to no shedding. Size and placement: a 6x9 fits an apartment living room with the sofa front legs and coffee table on the rug, or under a full bed. It also suits a 4-seat dining table. Use SAFAVIEH rug pad PAD121-6 underneath to stop creep, protect the floor and add cushion. Rooms: bedroom, kitchen, living room, home office, entryway. Whether you are searching for a 6x9 area rug, a polypropylene rug, a vintage medallion rug or a cream area rug, this design answers all of them in one piece. SAFAVIEH began in 1914 as curators of antique rugs, opened its first Madison Avenue showroom in 1978, and today designs and makes rugs, furniture, lighting and decor across three continents from its New York home.

## Features

- Design: A stepped Persian medallion composition reimagined with saturated bohemian energy and gentle vintage abrasions. Tone shifts with light and screen, and the pile has a light side and a dark side - face the side you prefer toward the main entry
- Made: Power-Loomed in Turkey from polypropylene, 3/8 in low pile. A low pile area rug that sits flat under furniture and lets chair legs glide
- Lives With: A practical choice for living rooms, hallways and family rooms in homes with kids and pets. Little to no shedding. Rotate every six months so wear and sunlight spread evenly
- Fits: A 6x9 fits an apartment living room with the sofa front legs and coffee table on the rug, or under a full bed. Pair it with SAFAVIEH rug pad PAD121-6 for grip and cushion
- Care: Vacuum regularly on a normal setting. Blot spills promptly; mild soap and water lifts marks. Fold lines from shipping settle out within a few days on the floor
- The SAFAVIEH Difference: For over a century, SAFAVIEH has been synonymous with exceptional quality and timeless design, a legacy carried through four generations since 1914. From New York, we offer rugs, furniture, lighting and decor for a space you love

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I get my rug edges to lie flat?**
A: Rugs are rolled or folded for safe transit, so creases and curled edges are to be expected. Lay the rug flat, or reverse-roll and the marks will release within a few days.

**Q: Why does my rug look different than the photo?**
A: Because the fibers lie in one direction, the rug appears lighter from one end and darker from the other, with the tone shifting as you move around it. Room lighting and screen settings can also affect how the color reads.

**Q: Why does my rug shed?**
A: A little shedding is normal on a new rug, and it subsides within a few days as the loose fibers work their way out.We suggest vacuuming regularly without a beater bar to help it along.

**Q: Why does my rug smell?**
A: A light scent is normal after a rug has been rolled and wrapped for shipping. Let air circulate through the room and it will fade within a few days.

**Q: How do I clean my rug?**
A: Vacuum regularly in the direction of the pile, not against it, and skip the beater bar. Blot spills rather than rubbing them. Natural fiber rugs should be shaken out to release dirt and debris, avoid wet cleaning.
