If you have gas or a electrical burner, I…** A: I use a lid on all pots on glass top. Flat bottom or ridges. Boils faster. Glass tops suck unless you use heavy bottom pans. Thin bottoms don't heat the whole pot up fast enough. A lid holds the heat as the contents start warming. **Q: What is the diameter of the 20 quart pot?** A: This pot is only 11.75'' in diameter inside. 12.5'' outside (less handle) by 11'' hight inside. 20 qt pot. Why so much miss information I do not understand **Q: 20 quart - What is the height and diameter of the 20 quart pot?** A: Not counting the handles or lid. To the very top it is 11". Across the top it measures 12" inside diameter. (the sides are straight, so the inside bottom should be the same) This will be fine for dry goods. If you are filling it with a liquid, then it is 9" high, just below the bottom rivets. If you fill it above the rivets, it will leak. If you are going to boil water, I wouldn't fill it any higher than 8" max. **Q: Induction ready?** A: Mine is magnetic, so it COULD be OK for induction heating. The bottom is not flat, it was dented on the bottom enough that it was creased, the lid was warped, and the 2-sided label for the plastic bag was instead applied directly to the pot which took 20 minutes to scrub off and I have no idea what the safety warnings on the back said, and the rivets look like they were done by sweatshop labor. That said it was and likely still it the absolute least expensive 20qt steel pot you can buy, and it seems to work, it doesn't seem cheap to me but that's inflation and considering it is the least expensive option I think it does very well and would recommend it to beginning brewers, people dyeing things, people doing crafts, any of those uses. maybe cooking a turkey outside? Not sure on that one.
