It won’t hurt to lightly cover them with leaves. Make sure they do not dry out when first planted so the roots can take hold. **Q: when planting do I use any potting soil** A: I didn’t use potting soil. I planted about 150 plants and they have all thrived. **Q: are the pots full of plant. fully root bound, or is this a sprig?** A: definitely full! not too root-bound. I left a couple in their pots from last summer until this spring, and they’re as happy as ever. **Q: Water bog ??? not very deep water will it survive** A: Not sure what your question is. Are you concerned that your spot is too wet or too dry? All I can tell you is Mondo Grass is extremely easy to grow and care for. Just dig a small hole and tap the dirt back around the root ball.
