Amazing product, easy to use, efficient
I absolutely love these milk collectors! I love how I can wear them at night when I am sleeping and not have any leaks. Super easy to use and are comfortable. I bought the 2.0 oz size and it is discrete when wearing it. Quality is awesome...I wore these for several months while I was breastfeeding - only downside is that the plugs on the top wear out and break off overtime and you have to replace the whole thing because it only works with suction. Other than that, every nursing mom should have these!

Milk supply without oversupply
Had to order a second one. First one the tab broke on top and honestly I think my toddler tried to open it and ripped it because I dont remember doing it. Otherwise the first held up through breastfeeding my first and 9 months into my second. I wear this while breastfeeding to catch the milk and it helped me save alot of milk without pumping. Im on the smaller side so I ordered the small one and it fits under a nursing bra no problem. I do not wear this in public. It is comfortable and easy to clean. I use my bottle brush and a drop of dish soap after use and hand wash in 1 minute and let air dry. I thought the price was more than expected but with how much use I get it is definitely worth the money ten-fold. Easy to use just squeeze while putting on and it creates a suction to hold. Dont try walking around with it on unless you secure it with your bra otherwise once there is milk it will fall off, of course. Best purchase hands down for our breastfeeding journey. I will recommend to anyone. I have purchased other haakka items that I also find useful. I know mom want to ensure they have a backup milk supply so they pump early and that can cause and oversupply. If you use this from day one and every time you feed you will catch a lot of milk just in the first 2-3 months while your supply levels off and it wont cause an over supply like a pump. I heard about this product from an IBCLC online and her podcast is Breezy Babies.

Great for Nursing Bra-less
I am a new mom with a 5 week old and this product is one tiny win for all the dozens of difficulties learning to breastfeed an infant. I used to just keep nursing pads in my bra to catch let down on the other side while nursing, but now that I see I am collecting anywhere from 20-30mL a feeding, I wish I had known about this sooner. Now I can freeze the milk instead of throwing it away it a soaked nursing pad. The biggest plus is that due to the small amount of suction, I am able to nurse bra-less and just attach it to the other side while my baby nurses. It was so frustrating to me to feel like I could never just give my chest and rib cage a break and go bra-less while feeding because I let down so much milk on the side that is not being actively nursed. Unlike the big haakaa manual pump that I tried (and massively failed) using for catching let down, there is no chance this will get kicked off. The silicone is comfortable and soft around the edges. The small amount of suction is comfortable and enough to keep the ladybug in place without actively pumping any milk, thus no risk for becoming an over-producer. You can either use suction to keep in place or place it in your bra. I purchased the Elvie let down collectors to test out at the same time and, while the hard rounded shell makes it a product that could be worn much more discreetly under your bra to collect milk throughout the day, my goal was to find something for collecting milk during feed times and for something that allowed me to be bra-less while feeding. The Elvie collectors have no suction which is why I ultimately chose the Haakaa That brings me to the cons of this product: 1. Not discreet whatsoever. I could never wear this under my bra in public. I purchased the smaller size and it’s pretty big and bulky. Go with the Elvie ones if your goal is wearing them in public 2. No measurement markings. Since I freeze the milk I collect, it would be nice if there was markings on the side that let me know how much I had collected

You need this if you’re breastfeeding
Hands down THE BEST passive milk collector. This is the reason why I have a freezer stash. The ladybugs easily fit into any nursing bra (I personally like a comfy sleep bra) and I attach one on the opposite breast just before baby nurses. When breastfeeding/collection is complete, I then pour the milk from the ladybug by holding it in my palm and squeezing a little to create a V on the larger opening (where the nipple usually goes) into a glass jar, which is refrigerated. I’ve found pouring from larger opening instead of the smaller opening (on the top with a stopper) leaves less milk residue in the ladybug. Every drop is precious! When the refrigerated collection jar is full, I transfer the milk to a lasinoh milk bag and freeze. Totally optional step, I just find it easier to not have to pour milk into a floppy plastic bag every time. Side note: CDC hasn’t officially supported the practice of pouring body temp milk into a container of refrigerated milk. So to stay in line with cdc recs, you can add a few steps. Pour freshly collected milk into a container and refrigerate. After the next feed, pour the now chilled milk from the prior session into a milk bag, then pour freshly collected milk into the container. Refrigerate both the milk bag and the container. Repeat until the milk bag is full then freeze. The silicone from haakaa brand items is high quality and I trust it will not leach dangerous chemicals into my baby’s milk. I’ve used the ladybugs every day for 6m now and it is as good as new when I wash it. I wash it with unscented dish soap (7th generation free and clear) because the essential oil in scented dish soaps can leach into silicone products, imparting a soapy taste onto the milk. Side note: many moms swear by the traditional haakaa milk pump but I found that even when I secured it with the flip out method, it gets kicked off by baby or I knock into it with my elbow and inevitably, precious milk is spilled. Plus the haakaa pump provides a negative suction which stimulates breastmilk production. The haakaa ladybug is a PASSIVE collection device so there is no suction (if you don’t press on center before attaching) and therefore no additional stimulation on your boobs. Goodbye engorgement/overproduction! 2024 Edit: I have heard good things about the Boon Trove! It's cheaper and flatter, making it more discreet to wear under bras. I haven't tried it yet, but will if I start the breastfeeding journey again with baby #2, and update this review. Photo taken with the two ladybugs and one Philips bottle nipple for size reference.

Great for catching, not for suction.
Unfortunately, not what I expected. I also have the Gen 1 and Gen 2 which are GREAT for suction and collecting your let down while baby is feeding on the other side. I regularly get 2oz during my midnight feeds with both Gen 1 and Gen 2 Haakaa's. I tried the ladybug haakaa because I though the size is perfect to fit in my bra, lessening the oppotunity for my baby to kick them off my boob. Well, he doesn't kick them off, but they have terrible suction and they DO NOT stay attached to my breast like the Gen 1 & 2. They are great for leakage and simply catching milk, but do not rely on these for extra suction purposes. I threw the box away or else I would return them.

Best Milk Collector!
I purchased a different milk collector before purchasing this one. The other one had a hard outside shell and a silicone like on the side that will be touching my breast. It had no suction at all. I had to put it underneath my bra. It caught my milk from let downs. It had an opening at the top that could not be closed. Overall it did its job. I purchased 2 of these haakaas. The Haakaa Milk Collector can just sit on your breast underneath your bra or slightly push the outside and press it against your breast for a small suction. Easy to put on and wear. It’s comfortable and even has a plug at the top where you pour your milk out. The plug is easy to plug and unplug. Cleaning is entirely way too easy. I can fit part of my scrub daddy in the inside to clean, my fingers can reach every corner in the Haakaa. Drying time for me personally is not that long. I put mine on the Boon Drying Twig for the Boon lawn drying rack. I make sure the plug is unplugged and the plug side is hanging down. It seems like it dries pretty quickly. I would say it is completely dries in less than an hour. 1 Haakaa milk collector - While nursing on one side, I use this milk collector on the other breast with a slight suction to it. 2 Haakaa milk collector - When I am not pumping or nursing I wear 2 of the milk collectors with suction. I make sure to not have the milk collected to sit over 2 hours and immediately put it in a bottle into the fridge. I even took a nap for less than 2 hours wearing these. I do wear mine out in public underneath my bra. I wouldn’t say it’s discreet or a secret when wearing it in public, but I personally do not care. I wear my portable electric pumps in public as well. Overall this is the best milk collector and I love it. The picture I provided is after wearing it for only 15 minutes while nursing.

The Best for Breastfeeding
These are the best! When breastfeeding, I was shoving a burp cloth down my bra and losing whatever milk came from the side my son was not nursing on. Now I use the Ladybug and collect the milk for his nighttime bottle. I bought the small size and it fits easily in my bra and even babys crazy kicks have not dislodged it. I have worn both to the store under a big sweater and it went completely unnoticed. Wearing them under a regular shirt might look slightly odd in public but honestly better then leaking milk everywhere. They are easy to use and easy to clean. I would definitely recommend these to anyone breastfeeding.

Bulky milk collector
I've been using this for a month now and as time goes on, I'm starting not to like it as much anymore. It's the first milk collector that I've tried, so I don't have anything else to compare it to just yet. Pros: -collects up to 2oz milk let down -has a spout to empty -can stand on flat surface -doesn't get knocked off bc you can put it inside your bra -doesn't spill while wearing it inside your bra and bending down or laying sideways -easy to clean -it's literally a milk collector for leaky breasts and not a strong continous suction like the haakaa, so don't get it confused :p. You squeeze it to create a suction, then put it on your breast. The suction power is just enough to make sure it stays on your breast and not draw out the milk. Cons: -expensive -bulky even if you are a 36A. It IS discreet so when you look on the outside with a shirt on you can't tell that you're wearing it. However, the comfort level of wearing it is a bit annoying. If you're bigger than a 36A, I think it'll start looking and feeling even more uncomfortable while wearing inside your bra because of its protruding shape. -the suction can pop off, hence the bulkiness. I've had to redo the suction many times so it can stay on, but eventually I give up and just let it sit there inside my bra. It's bulky, so it stretches your bra instead of being semi-flattened out after creating the suction and putting it onto your breast. -the opening for your nipple can sometimes dig into your breast. It's silicone and soft when you feel around the whole with your finger, but when you put it on your breast, it can feel a little bit sharp digging into your breast tissue. I bought it for the pros, but maybe I'll try something else because the bulkiness and suction popping off is annoying.
