It’s decent but has some flaws
So far I have had this for a little over a week. I enjoy walking in and out of the room, as well as leaving the house with out worrying about turning the lights out. I enjoy using the 24/7 mode. It automatically changes dims and turns off/on the light with out having to do anything. I also notice my fish appearing to be calm and seek in the night mode. It’s stated that it’s not water proof but I have no had any issues. I had to rig it to fit my 36 and my 10 gallon tanks. The small one was not big enough and the large is a bit big (hangs off by a couple inches.) I actually gave it a 4 star instead of 5 bc of this reason. I never touch them so as long as they hold up with out issue I sure they will be a good investment: I look forward to seeing my plants grow as well (main reason.) I wish the storm button was integrated into the 24/7 mode bc I will never grab the remote just to turn that on. Not bad tho!Update: I have had this one for 8 months. I bought two different sizes for different aquariums. I love the 24/7 mode BUT it doesn’t quite time it self well. After a few days the timer ends up not turning off. It’s quite irritating to wake up at 3am and it’s somehow dialed itself to be day light time. It didn’t do this at first so I’m assuming after running it a few months something goes wrong, bc both of them started doing it about the same time. At first the only thing I wish it had included the thunderstorm in the automatic setting. In one tank it created black hair algae and in the other tank it created green algae. I would think it was due to the auto timer not syncing properly. I did my best to use the remote every chance I had starting about month 4. After 6 months is when it started to really switch up, which in return is the reason my algae started to grow. I have kept both lights off in both tanks since Christmas. My algae has started to disappear now. Keep in mind these tanks are 4 years old. I have never had an algae issue. The positives are that the lights are bright, water has never appeared to short anything out and the remote works as it should. I just can’t seem to figure out why the 24/7 auto timer isn’t working properly on BOTH units. I did not notice much growth from the lighting to my live plants.New update: the larger one still works… even with a little need to be cleaned. I don’t use it all the time but it works when I want it too.The smaller one on the small tank… starts turning on by itself so I had to unplug it. I’m assuming moisture has got inside which tells me they are not as water resistant for long term use as I would have hoped.

Loaded with Features at a Fair Price
I was excited to get this. because with the lockdown, I would not be home. but sheltering away. With only plants and my otos in there (with plenty of algae to eat), I was happy for the. 24-hr feature. Fast-forward to September having been back for 3 months, my remote died and was stuck on the that 24-hr cycle, as I like to adjust the lights. myself when home. With limited options manually on the fixture, I had to use it. Only issue was the light never goes black and I really don't need a fishtanks as nightlight, nor do the plants.I reached out to Nicrew and explained the issue and that I even tried new batteries. Could they please send me a new remote. Unfortunately, this model was phased out. with an undate, so they no longer had remotes programmed for my light. happily, my. warranty. was still good and got a new one with a new remote. Besides upgraded. LEDs in the new model, the 24-hr cycle now also includes a 6-hr blackout period. So much better! Nicrews customer service is the tops.

It’s decent for the money, you just have to pay attention to them.

Decent light. Ok features. Major variance between model versions. Great price.
I now have three of these RGB 24/7 lights. I bought the first two a few months back and this one more recently. It's odd, the model must have changed because the light cycle seems to work differently. My other lights have a full 24/7 light pattern from a warm sunrise, bright midday, cool color evening lighting, and nighttime even has a very dull glow on the old version. The new version seems to actually have a period throughout the night where it fully turns the light off then resumes the cycle the next day; this isn't necessarily bad because I kind of wish the other lights did this too but its just odd that the primary 24/7 cycling would change like this from model to model. It is also a lot more white and blue lights as it cycles through midday, so it seems much brighter and a little less like natural light. Also I don't seem to be able to set just one single color on these like I could with the others. The RGB functionality seems to act weird. But overall for the price compared to Finnex stuff it's well worth it.

Best Budget Aquarium Light
I switch from Nicrew Classic to this and so far so good.I don't have plants in my aquarium so I can't tell if this light is good for planted aquarium. The remote is a bit tricky and the receiver is not perfect.I ordered the 36" to 48" and my tank size is 48" length. The light bar extenders can't support the weight of light if I stretch it to 48". Good thing that my tank has canopy, that I can just place the Led Light on top of the canopy. My problem will be on summer time when I never use the aquarium canopy. But the best thing I like about is the 24/7 mode which mimic the day to night light.

Not as bright compare to my default tank light
This Nicrew feel really cheap. Mine was dirty with a lot of dust in and outside. I had to unscrew one side to clean the dust inside and on the transparent plastic. I currently have 42 LED at 8000K on my tank top cover. From my eye perspective, both seems to have the same intensity. All my Ludwigia repens lower part always melt and died because of lack of light. Since this Nicrew RGB is not brighter, compare to my default one. I think my problem of medium plants wont be fixed. I don’t think I’ll keep it. I realize that all the features was cool at first when you read but in reality, you do not need those. The remote is ease of use. Stay simple and keep using your wifi timer.

Slick little light, pretty good build quality but lacks customization
This LED is slick and looks amazing. It’s pretty expensive but the build quality seems decent. It has a 24/7 mode which the light would mimic outdoor natural lighting outside. You can also should from 4 types of pre- set lighting effects or customize your own brightness and colour combinations into 4 memory slots.I was disappointed about it not able to be fully customized in terms of scheduling. The 24/7 mode turns off the light at midnight and comes back on at 6am.I appreciates that it is completely silent and heating hasn’t seem to be an issue however I’ve only had them up for 3 days. Will update later

Nice LED aquarium light with 24/7 hour feature that's heckin affordable!
The media could not be loaded. My roommate and I are setting up a new aquarium in the living room because I had this empty aquarium sitting outside that I got from an old friend. My roommate brought it up that why don't we use it and I thought why not, with the pandemic that's going on this would be a good hobby to get into. I have a couple of fancy goldfish in a 29 gallon in my room already and had fish in the past so I say I have some knowledge to fish keeping whereas my roommate is new to the hobby, which means I'll get to teach her. We'll be going with a couple more fancy goldfish as I absolutely love them and my roomie fell in love at the sight of the panda moore when I showed her some goldfish varieties. Now, onto the light. I was looking for an LED light instead of a fluorescent light for energy savings and that some of the LED lights made nowadays are on par or above fluorescent bulbs. I was hooked on the fact that there was a remote and the 24/7 hour feature. I liked this so much that I replaced the light on my bedroom aquarium with a 24/7 hour light. Unfortunately, it was not by NICREW but some other brand on Amazon that had a 24/7 hour remote. Quickly learned that they both varied differently in their 24/7 clock. This brings me the second thing I like about this light. I like that there is a "dead time" meaning the light shuts off at 12 am and turns back on at 6 am when I 24/7 mode. Whereas the other light stays on while cycling through its clock.I like the construction and aesthetic of the unit. It's lightweight yet feels sturdy. Of course, I can't forget about the price. I'm surprised at what it has to offer that it is so affordable and that I don't have to shell out a butt-ton to have something nice.A few minor grips I might have with it but that don't subtract from the unit is that the remote can be a bit finicky but once you figure out its quirks, it's easy. An example would be being in "lighting mode" and trying to get back into "24/7 mode", I would have to press 24/7 a few times to get it to work. There is a little instruction booklet that comes with it some you're not completely in the dark. The other grip I have is not with the unit itself but the fact that there is a size gap between 18" and 30" for the small to midsized aquariums. I would love to put an RGB Plus on my bedroom aquarium which measures 25.5" but there's not one available in my aquarium size. Please NICREW remedy this size gap.Summary- Nice LES light- Many features- Sturdy construction- Aesthetically pleasing- Heckin affordable*Side note* Lights are brighter and more vibrant in person than what's showing up in the film. *- Will update when I have plants and fish put in -

No 6-8-12h timer.. Only 18 timer (24/7 mode)
Seller suggest this :1. To avoid excessive algae growth, limit the lighting time of your aquarium 8 to 10 hours per day;Product doesnt have a timer other than the 24/7 which is 18h of light of different types...I wanted to add their cool 1 channel timer but they advised against it and i still dont know why...I desire just that : 8-10 hours on with a gradual on-off sequence..Dont get me wrong i can use the remote to turn it on/off when i want but thats silly since i might not be home all the time when it reached 10hours on.. The timer seemed a promessing product now i dont know what to do.
