Can I use this on the doors to my air handler. The stuff that is on them now is pretty gross and I want to replace it.

This is NOT porous so if the door stuff acts as a filter or if air intake is through the doors then no it won't work.

The dimensions are on the product description (16" x 10 feet); the weight is almost nothing...It is just bubble wrap enclosed in lightweight foil. It probably weights under half a pound.

Would this help central air be more effective? I'm renting the top floor of an old house and would be willing to rig it to walls if it'd help.

yes it would help to insulate the walls and keep the cool air in .But it will also help hold the heat in the winter
