Empowering Children Through Storytelling
This is the second book, by this author, I have purchased and it does not disappoint. It is rare to find books that empower girls to achieve greatness in fields โmade for menโ and I am Thrilled to gift this book to my niece who is really into STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math). I also Love that boys are learning, through these books, to treat girls as equals and they will, hopefully, grow up to respect and honor women who know no barriers.

Great Story
I enjoyed reading this book. It was insightful to learn about a true woman of color in a STEM career. I think this should be read in schools.

Another Great Book in an Excellent Series
Julia Mosca writes in such honest (but rhyming and fun!) ways about women who worked hard, faced difficulties, and succeeded in science. The girl with a mind for math has a wonderful message for young boys and girls. I share the Amazing Scientists series widely and everyone is really impressed. Great for kids who are too little for a chapter book biography.

Awesome book!
This book is great! Every little girl of color should read this!! It's so empowering! Raye is a great example of how to overcome life's challenges. My daughter LOVES this book. My daughter wants to be a scientist and loves math too. We got a couple extra great surprises from this book too (Arkansas and Navy). We are from Arkansas and my husband was in the Navy for 21 years, so this book is extra special to us!! This is a must read book!!

Great story in a fun picture book
The book is written with pleasant rhyming prose while conveying a strong message of overcoming the prejudices facing women of color and a nice little bit of history. Would highly recommend for aspiring engineers and math loving little girls in the 5โ8 age range.
