Probably my favorite MH product
Very tasty stuff! When hydrated exactly to the directions, it's not perfect. Having tried various tweaks (time, stirring/shaking) I have yet to find the perfect solution. No big deal. I've always had bits of un-mixed bits regardless of the shaking/stirring/waiting I do. It's a quite fine product (dusty stuff) that can at times get caught in the plastic seam, preventing complete closure of the pak. That is also not an uncommon issue with MH stuff. Sure, I would rather it cost what it did just a few years ago, but with the panic activity of EOTWAWKI folks of late, I suppose charging 'all the traffic will bear' is just part of the natural equation. It is no less expensive on the mfg site. Is it worth the cost? As food? No, it's not. As a convenience and a very good tasting bag to eat out of? Yes, it is! In the middle of the high-desert waiting for the stars to pop? It's better than that!

Preparing for the Future, Freeze Dried meals last 25+ years. Tasty option in a crunch.
I bought it for emergency use in the future. The packaging was sturdy and undamaged. I have used this brand before and found it tasted pretty good.

Essential to have on hand.
Mountain house freeze dried food is not cheap, but I've spent more money on things that aren't as essential as food especially food that has a 25 to 30 year shelf life. This is something I hope I'll never have to use in an emergency situation but it's better to have and not use than to need and not have. Get some.
