Review: READ THIS IF YOU ARE STARTING TO RESEARCH JUICERS - UPDATE 3.15.2017 I should have updated this post sooner. I was able to send the Juicer back to Omega directly and they took care of replacing it ASAP. Excellent customer service, great and fast response time. The replacement blender has worked flawlessly since we received it back in October, so about 5 1/2 months now. Omega can't be beat for customer service and responsiveness, this should give anyone the confidence to buy their products. Had I read through the warranty I would have seen the company backs up their products for over ten years. I doubt I will still be using my juicer that long - hoping that technology moves better solutions forward by then! UPDATE 8.8.2016 Two months after purchase I have purchased hundreds of items from desertcart over the past couple of years and never wirte reviews. I was pretty happy with the initial performance of the Omega VERT slow juicer and so busted out a quick raving 5 star review. Now only two months later the juicer is broken and in a box, never to be used again, the seller only had a 30 day warranty. If you plan on using a juicer with any frequency, plan on buying another juicer and not from this seller. I had high hopes for this juicer only to be very, very disappointed in its acutal lack of performance. Save yourself the time and money and look for a horizontal auger type juicer, they last longer. *************************** Omega VERT Slow Juicer VSJ843QS, Square Version, Silver . We have a small beverage business and fresh press our organic fruits and roots. Over the past two years we have used the Omega J8006 and tried the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus. Our goal is to have as much pure juice and the least amount of pulp or residual byproduct in the juice, so we are willing to take more time to achieve this result. While the Breville is a great machine and probably good for someone juicing for personal health purposes, it had too much pulp and a lot of it was too wet. The Omega J8006 has been a staunch work horse, but after a year the parts started wearing out. Omega's customer service is top notch however and has been very helpful in getting us replacement screens at no additional cost to us. The OJ8006 finally broke down a few days ago so we are sending the base unit back to Omega as they have a 7 or 10 year warranty. In the mean time I did a Yuge, huge, HUGE amount of research looking for a replacement and came up with the Omega VERT Slow Juicer VSJ843QS. I will spare you the details, only because I don't have the time to elaborate since I spent all of it researching and actually have to get back to work, but I wanted to get a quick 5 star rating posted on this product. DISCLAIMER, I am writing this after the first use and will update later if my experience changes. This Slow Juicer is the bomb, It squeezes 4 cups of Pineapple juice out of one Pineapple, whereas we typically only get 3 cups. Try getting those results for Pineapple in any other juicer. We just sliced the pieces and dropped them in the chute, didn't even have to press down on the plunger. And there was hardly any foam whatsoever, a stark contrast to both of the other machines we have used. Then we put ginger into the plunger which you have to use to process ginger. It did get stuck a few times, but the reverse button offered a quick solution and we were able to churn out some ginger juice that was as pure as any I have seen. The pulp was so dry you could have used it for kindling. I realize that writing a review after juicing two items, a pineapple and ginger, is not a thorough review. But after you have juiced for two years in a small business environment you know what to look for and anticipate. This juicer is very quiet and the wide auger with low RMP does a great job of giving us the most juice and therefore bang for our buck. So make sure to include this juicer in your research and save yourself a whole lot of time. If you find something better, please let me know!
Review: Buy it. Use it. Love it. Don't forget to Brag about it. - This thing is da' bomb! I previously had a centrifugal style juicer and just the slow process without whipping all the air into the juice made for a much richer tasting juice than my previous machine. This machine is so quiet too compared to the other one that I had. Pros: Cleaning it, setup, dis-assembly, juice quality, quiet, quality of construction. Cons: not really anything. The feeder tube is not a larger mouth style so you might spend another 30 seconds to 1 minute prepping to juice since you need to make sure that the pieces are smaller but what does eight cuts on an apple mean compared to four on my previous machine. I don't think I will cry about losing a minute each time I juice. The end product that comes out of the machine is just so rich and tasty it makes me want to scream. Very nice yield too. Make sure to watch several youtube videos on how to use the slower juicer machines. Things like some leafy greens or celery do need to be cut fairly small due to the cellulose and fiber strands but, again, that is not really adding to prep time unless you like the large mouthed units that you can dump and run the produce. The first juice I did was: beet root (1/2 lb), carrot (1lb), 2 red delicious apples, 1 orange, 2 ounces spinach threw all that into a blender with a banana and flax (a rip off of Jamba Juice's Orange Reviver). The total yield on this, after the banana and blended, was just over 1 quart for those that are curious. I had read that sometimes this style juicer can stop due to too much of a load so I did leave some of the carrots large on purpose to see what the size was that would stop the machine. Now I know that I needed a whopping one more cut on one fat piece of carrot and no more issues. If you currently juice and are curious about slow juicers, go for it. Well worth the money, don't forget 15 YEARS coverage on this bad boy. Or, if you have never juiced but are serious about starting, dive it. Don't waste time with the $129 spinners....like the one I threw away already. High speed spinning parts - anything gets off balance and you have a juicer that will vibrate and slide all over the counter top and that is LOUD when it happens. I'd have to take the old one apart, put it back together carefully and half the time it still felt like I was using a machine that was going to explode.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's the difference between this juicer and the VSJ843RS model?**
A: This VSJ843QS has a square body. The Q in the model number means it has a square body. The VEJ843RS has a more compact round body. The R in the model number means it has a Round body. The S at the end of either model number means it has a silver exterior color. If you choose the red or white model you will received the red or white model. We will see what color you ordered at our end after you make the purchase. The body style is the only difference in the VSJ843RS and VSJ843QS models. The both have the new double edged, tighter tolerance auger for getting more juicer from your fruits and vegetables. The auger turns at a slow 43RPM for the highest quality of juice. Both have the Juice Tap Spout for mixing juices together and for helping you clean the juicer. Both juice fruits, vegetables and leafy greens and a 15 year manufacturers warranty. I hope this helps you. VeggieSensations.

**Q: Will it work eith seeded grapes, apples, oranges, berries, watermelon, honeydew melon r cantelope?**
A: It works exceedingly well with harder fruits and vegetables. It’s works well with soft fruits and leafy veggies as long as there is a combination of hard and soft produce being juiced at the same time.

Please see John Kohler’s videos on YT. He covers all aspects of juicing with this juicer in excruciating detail.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the chute opening?**
A: Watch John from Discount Juicers on YT. He goes very in depth on the features and specs of this and most every juicer there is.

**Q: there is a very little rough part like a apple seed in size and shape on the surface of auger. IS this normal? Thanks**
A: I looked at mine and if you are seeing the same thing that I am - the apple seed looking thing is on the parting line that runs from the top of the auger to the bottom. The apple seed looking thing is where the plastic was injected into the mold tooling that produces the auger itself. After the finished part drops out of the mold it will have along piece of plastic hanging off of it. This is cut off flush to the molded finished auger. Where they once connected there will be the defect in the surface - again assuming we are talking about the same thing. The injection point on my auger is the only thing that I could find that might be what you are asking about so without seeing it, that is my best guess as to what you are seeing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HUGE difference in juice quality and juice storage life vs. centrifugal juicers. Easier cleanup too!
*by T***Y on June 30, 2016*

I hesitated upgrading my faithful Breville centrifugal juicer to the Omega VSJ843QR. First was cost - this thing is probably 3+ times the cost of the Breville and, 3 years on, mine was still running fine. Second was performance - would this really squeeze more juice out or have some other benefit that could justify the price? Well, it's been almost three months and all I can say is WOW. I had no idea what I'd been missing. Bear with me as this review deserves a little length.. First thing's first: I lean toward green juices - kale, celery, cucumber, ginger, apple, lime. this juicer squeezes every one of those ingredients dry, especially the solft greens. I haven't actually measured the yield differential but judging by the consistency of the pulp that's ejected and the fact that I use less ingredient to fill the same cup, it's obvious I was getting much more out of the Omega than my centrifugal. Typically, I added cucumber to my juice, not really realizing that it was just adding extra liquid without a ton of nutrients. Since my first few runs with the Omega, I've left the cucumber out entirely now and still get the same yield from the remaining ingredients! This is actually good for me as I have been told by a holistic doctor that I have too much 'cold' in my body, and eliminating the cucumber is one thing that can help (cutting out ice cream is another solution but I don't think that's happening). Second major advantage to this juicer - the juice quality and storage life is several days vs. several hours with my centrifugal. This solved part of my problem with sticking to juicing as a lifestyle. Centrifugal juicers run at high rpm and tear the fruits and vegetables up with sharp, fast moving teeth. According to everyone who writes about this stuff, that action rips open the cell walls of the nutrients and hence accelerates oxidation. Point being, the nutritional value of your juice is degrading quickly so you are recommended to drink it within 20 minutes for max benefit, or store for up to 8 hours. This also needs to be done in an airtight, vacuum container if possible. After a half day or so, at least for me, the juice would taste pretty off, so I made a point to juice what I could drink and drink fast. Not convenient, but what's the point if you don't get the nutrition? This was a bit of a problem as these centrifugal juicers make a lot of noise - hence juicing early in the morning carried a high risk of waking up the missus. The Omega is, by contrast, super quiet. This was originally really helpful for the morning juice routine, until I realized I could skip the morning routine altogether! The juice I produce from this machine keeps totally fresh in a filled glass jar for at least 24 hours, and tastes perfect (even if it's lost some nutrition) up to 3 days later. This is a huge boon as I could never, say, make juice enough for an evening and store the rest for the entire next day. Being able to reach into the fridge and grab a bottle has made sticking to the habit WAY easier. By the way, this model is much easier to keep clean than the Breville as well. I've been juicing for 3+ years and, while I thank my Breville for its service well beyond its warranty, I think most serious juicers will want to step up to a machine like the VSJ843. Once you do, you'll probably wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
